Rainbow Tulips

What a change in the weather!  After a sunny spell, we're back to grey skies and rain.  It seemed a good idea to have a few days in our caravan in Devon, but it's not much fun walking in the countryside in the rain, so out came my crafting things to join in with a few challenges.  Anyone who follows my blog knows I keep a basic craft kit in the caravan and bring down a few crafty bits and pieces just in case of bad weather.  This is what I came up with with the limited supplies I have here.

The die is one I bought earlier this month on our way back from North Yorkshire when called in a couple of craft shops.  Does anyone else find it difficult to come out of a craft shop empty-handed?  So many craft shops are closing and I like to feel I'm doing my bit to help keep them open.  The die is Memory Box 'Paper Cut Tulip Circle'.  I cut it out first in black, then cut two flowers in colours of the rainbow and attached them over the top of the black die cut in the right order.  The sentiment is die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle' die and raised it up on foam pads.  I used a 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder for the background.  Everything I used, except for the card blank, was snippets, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. I'm sorry it had to rain on your trip but what better use of your time! This is so cute and colorful. I tried my best to keep my stamp stores in business but they closed anyway. The upside was a lot of new products. Nope, never left one empty handed either.

  2. Great card Liz - and such a super die as well. I love the bright and cheerful colours you used - snippets rule!

Hope the weather bucks up a bit - I almost froze to death at the Village Carnival on Saturday - there was just no escape from the wind. I jolly well hope we haven't had Summer already!

    Hugs

  3. This is very pretty with the rainbow of colours for the tulips Liz, and the Swiss Dots always make a beautiful background, and love the red base card too. We were away this weekend and the weather was quite cold for an outdoor party on Saturday, and yesterday we were hoping to do some things on the way home but by then it had turned to rain...anyway your bad weather crafting turned out rather well. x

  25. It's either feast or famine when it comes to the rain, at least here in the US. lol Sorry it is raining for you right now, but at least you have some crafty supplies along with you and can keep busy when the rain comes. Your card is awesome! I love that die and I love how you used it Liz. Yes, no one I know can go in a craft store and not come out with something! lol And it is good to do our part in keeping a small business in business. Hugs, Brenda

  32. Fabulous card love the colours.
Great idea to have some crafty stash in your caravan for bad weather days - that shouldn't be needed for a while as it looks like we are getting a heatwave (again?) its been very warm and sultry all week here on the Essex coast.
