Glitter, glitter and more glitter!

The Rudolph Days October Challenge starts today and runs until the end of the month.  I can't believe there is only one more month of this challenge before Christmas!  A quick and easy card today, upcycling an old Christmas card that was too beautiful to throw away.

I covered a card blank with a square of white glitter card, die cut with a Sue Wilson 'Double Pierced Square' die, after gutting a smaller square in the middle so I didn't use a whole big square of my precious white glitter card.  I filled in the gutted part with another square, cut from a spare snippet of ordinary white card.  I cut off the front of the bought Christmas card, attached it over the gutted section.   The Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflake' die cut is attached with foam pads to add dimension.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  17. Thanks for reminding! I've been keeping Rudy in mind and then totally forgot today was the 25th! What a lovely recycle project this is. The glitter paper and the wonderful SW die made such a pretty shimmery background for this aqua sparkle stocking. Great job on this one, Liz. TFS & Hugs

  29. Wow, I love how you recycled an old Christmas card Liz! Your glitter is just beautiful and I do that with a lot of paper if it is some that I am totally loving. I hate to waste my paper, so I cut out the middle. Love the blues and glittery whites on this one and of course that cute image of the stocking and borders! Hugs, Brenda

  33. We both used upcycled cards this time, Liz. Yours is so very pretty. Love the hint about gutting the inside of the glitter mat. Glitter card is around $3.20 per sheet here, so I buy it up when on sale and gut the insides too!

Thanks for taking part in the October Rudolph Days Challenge.
