Another Christmas card today.
I made the background a while ago when I was experimenting with Pixie Powders on black card. I thought I would make a lovely night sky for the Memory Box 'Frosted Christmas Tree' die cut. I added some glitter along the edge of the branches of the tree to add some extra sparkle and shine. The sentiment was stamped in navy, layered on a snippet of the leftover background card and raised up on foam pads.
Here is a close-up of the background. I love how the Pixie Powders shine when the light catches them. The colours look even more vibrant IRL.

Wow what a stunning background Liz. Love those powders on the dark card and the crisp white tree with the bit of bling looks fabulous against it x. A really beautiful card x.
ReplyDeleteVery striking card, Liz. What a beautiful background for your sparkly tree!
ReplyDeletePixie powders are so effective on dark card and in this case they combine so well with the lovely white tree.
ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous white tree just pops against that stunning background. Pixie powders are new to me but they sure do make a fantastic background.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe this Liz - I was just sat here thinking I am going to have a play with my neglected Pixie Powders tomorrow - and up pops your lovely card!

ReplyDeleteA very different card from you, and love so much your "experiment" with pixies powders! I have brushos but I don't think they work on black. Your sky is just stunning and so magical, just the perfect background for the white tree!!

What a fabulous background Liz and so shimmery on the black card, and love the contrast with the white tree and some more pretty glitter on the branches too. x
ReplyDeleteThe background works perfectly with the white tree to the fore Liz and your second photo shows the variants in colour so well, not had those powders out in an age but might need to follow your inspiration. Many thanks for sharing and joining in our 'Sparkle and Shine' theme at Allsorts challenge.
