I don't use my stencils as much as I should, so I had a play with an ink pad and a stencil for this card.
I made a mask with a scalloped heart die and inked through the aperture with a soft make-up brush using a 'Picked Raspberry' Distress Ink pad. I've done this several times before, but this time I left the mask in place, layered a Lavina 'Feather Leaf' stencil over the top and using the same ink pad to ink through the stencil. I added a little stencilling to the top corners and add a strip of ribbon. The layered sentiment is raised up on foam pads.

And it's really rather lovely, Liz. I was guilty of the same thing a while back but now use stencils a lot.

Very pretty card and a useful technique to remember using stencils - something I have rather too many of probably I do use them quite a bit as well as sometimes making ones of my own using dies.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Liz- fabulous stencilling!

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card Liz! I am guilty of not giving my stencils any love, although I love them, but forget about them. So most are NBUS. What a fun idea, love that you made a stencil with the heart and then used another stencil to stencil inside of your stencil! lol Turned out stunning and this makes for a beautiful anniversary cards. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteVery pretty anniversary card, Liz! Nice work with the stencils/masks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous stenciled card design.
ReplyDeleteLovely card Liz. I'm guilty of not using my stencils enough too. I like how by using different applicators you have a different depth of colour on the heart using the same ink.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty Liz, love that stencil too. Great photo, seems you are doing well with the lightbox?

It’s certainly easier to get the colours in the photos true to life. No more cream looking more like white or red looking orangey. Still playing around a bit with the best place to position the lights. xx
DeleteGorgeous card design and colour Liz
