A Good Luck card today with a lucky black cat. The good or bad luck they possess is dependent on where you live in the world. In Britain and Japan, having a black cat cross your path, is considered good luck, whereas if you live in the USA or several European countries, it is bad luck to have a black cat walk by.
I used a Craftwork Cards 'Circle Window Nesting Dies' with black card and layered it over a slightly smaller white circle. The cat is a Poppystamps 'Large Walking Cat' die cut. The background was embossed with a Creative Expressions 'Pawprint Lattice' e/f. Three black pearls finished off my card.

A beautiful silhouette diecut, the beautiful black, green colour combo is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful cat silhouette! It looks really wonderful with the green card stock and definitely will bring the recipient good luck! Love your card! I'm also happy to learn that other countries see black cats as good luck because as far as I am concerned all cats are good luck :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge this week!
What a totally fun card with that black cat! I love those tiny pawprints embossed into the background and I never knew black cats crossing one's path was lucky in other parts of the world! I learn something new every day :)
ReplyDeleteAs Ellie said, it's a lovely Cat image and so striking with the black and green palette, many thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts 'Wings and Tails' theme this week.

Well you can always learn something new - didn't realise black cats were unlucky in some places. Great card.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to know what the differences are in different places. This is a cute card wishing good luck but, you're right it's considered bad luck here. I don't know how they got such a bad rap.
ReplyDeleteLove the black circle with the black cat and the vibrant green and embossing. Super card Liz.

This is really pretty Liz and I love the inner scallop shaped die with the black cat for good luck and the the pawprint background in the beautiful green complements the design perfectly. x
ReplyDeleteFabulous and cute card.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Allsorts;-))m
I did not know that a black cat in Britain is good luck, Liz. In Greece, it is a bad luck. I LOVE your beautiful card, my friend, with the bright green embossed background. Kisses!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely design for a good luck card, I'm biased as I have a black cat and think they're rather majestic x
ReplyDeleteNice contrast with the B & W + 1 colour. So glad you joined us at Critter Crazy this time, please come again. CarolG
