The Tag-along (and ATCs) Challenge started this month. I've already made a tag, so I thought I'd have a go at making an ATC. I usually make 7"x 5" or 6"x 6" cards, so it was a challenge to make something much smaller.
The ATC measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2". I covered a piece of card with a snippet of patterned paper from The Range and corner rounded the corners. I doodled a pattern around the edge using a dark green fineliner pen..... no idea why it looks blue in the photo! The leaves and flowers are stamps from a Two Jays 'Funky Flowers' set, a recent purchase from a charity shop and they had their first outing. I stamped the leaves on the ATC in Versafine Clair 'Rain Forest' and again on a snippet of green card. I fussy cut the leaves on the green card and paper pieced them on the ATC. I stamped the flowers and centres with Versafine Clair 'Shady Lane, fussy cut them and glued onto the ATC. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set, stamped with 'Rain Forest'. Three tiny yellow pearls finished off my card.

A second make to share today, a card made for a 19 year old neighbour who completed the London Marathon recently for the first time. The run was made even more difficult due to the unusually hot weather for this time of year.
I used a die and stamps from the Crafter's Companion 'Celebrate your success' set. The layered, punched stars are attached to the card with foam pads.
I added a piece of blue card behind on the inside to show through the 'CELEBRATE' when the card is closed.

Brilliant celebration card Liz, I love the bold sentiment die and great colour scheme for a male.. Your ATC is very pretty too, lovely combo of stamping and doodling. I love making ATC’s though I haven’t really been doing any lately xx
ReplyDeleteYou've succeeded brilliantly! It's so pretty and in perfect scale too. Thanks for sharing at our new challenge. Your second card is also a great design, what a feat to run at all in the heat we have had.
ReplyDeleteYour ATC is lovely Liz, pretty flowers and papers, the doodled edge looks great too and finishes it perfectly. I know what you mean about out of the comfort zone, hard to get my head around the size but I've had a go too (not posted yet!) and it's quite addictive!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card too, a very effective design with the large die cut across the centre.
Thank you for sharing your sweet ATC at Stamping Sensations and Crafty Catz.
xx
Two lovely makes Liz, such a nice idea for your neighbour and lovely fresh looking ATC, like you I initially found the size challenging. But you did a great job, so nice to see you at our first Tag-Along (and ATC's) challenge, really appreciate your support, thanks so much.

Two great projects Liz, gorgeous paper and embellishments on the ATC and a wonderful congratulatory card for your neighbour
ReplyDeleteIt is quite a task to make something so much smaller than your preferred card size but you've made a pretty ATC here. I'm sure it's good for us to venture outside the comfort zone now and then 😊
ReplyDeleteYour ATC is sweet, Liz! Well done with the miniature! And, wow, do you ever have expert skills with lining a border! I also love the thoughtful card you made to celebrate your neighbor for running the marathon! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

Wonderful ATC! Just love your doodled edge which looks absolutely perfect! The congrats card is cheerful and a great design!
ReplyDeleteThat's a super ATC Liz and love the paper and added die cut flowers and leaves..a great find in a charity shop, and your doodled border looks wonderful, so neat it could be a stamp. The 'Celebrate' card is perfect for your marathon running neighbour and looks so pretty with the blue starry paper and added layered star and coordinating sentiment. I got that die in a CC sale a while ago and I still haven't used it...I really must and soon. x
ReplyDeleteI love your ATC Liz, the first of many I hope!! Your celebrate card is just beautiful too. Thanks for joining us at Tag-along (and ATCs) this month.

Your ATC is a wonderful example of stepping out of your comfort zone! The combination of stamping, doodling, and paper piecing creates such a charming design. The sentiment is a lovely touch, and the tiny yellow pearls add just the right amount of detail. The celebration card is equally impressive—a fantastic way to acknowledge such an incredible achievement. Both pieces are beautifully crafted!
