I made this card for a card swap which hopefully should arrive any day. I've seen a few cards recently using a similar design and this is my version.
All the patterned paper was snippets from a paper pad from The Works. I used a new Stampin' Up 'Heartfelt Hexagon Punch' I bought recently. The punch was being discontinued, so I got it for a good price. I punched a hexagon with a snippet of white card and stamped the greeting with a stamp from the Happy Little Stampers 'Whimsical Friends' set using a Versafine Clair 'Warm Breeze'. I doodled a pattern around the greeting with a fineliner pen. The greeting was attached with foam pads to add some dimension.

NBUS Challenge #87 ~ Use Never-Before-Used-SchtuffEvery June since 2012 our street has held a 'Big Lunch' street party, organised by me and a friend. It's a time to get together with all the neighbours who live in the street. (During Covid we all sat in our front gardens with our own picnics.) These are the invitations I made for everyone this year, with all the details of the event inside.
We live in a cul-de-sac with a green at the closed end, opposite our house. Gazebos were erected, tables and chairs arrived and everyone brought food and drink to share. There were about thirty of us of all ages. Fortunately we held it yesterday, when it was dry until early evening.

What a really effective card Liz, many thanks for sharing at We Love Stamping challenge. Love the street party idea, would be a very quiet event here, just seven houses fields apart!

Love this snippets card made with your new punch. Very neat doodling too.
ReplyDeleteNice that you have a friendly street.
Thanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you in the treehouse later. Xxx
The hexagon shapes look so pretty using the different coordinating papers and the added white hexagon sentiment plate with the super doodling around it works brilliantly Liz. The second invitation to your street party is delightful in red and white and the two different embossed patterns around the central wording look great. It looks as though a wonderful time was had by all. x
ReplyDeleteVery nice cards. Glad you could make the picnic work during covid. It's amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it! Your punched decorative paper card took a while to do but you did a great job in putting it together nicely. I have yet to master getting the pieces in place so they look even. Nice job on yours!
ReplyDeleteI like your great collection of hexagons - nice papers! Your neighborhood invitation is great, too. Looks like a wonderful time.

ReplyDeleteA great Snippets card and I'm sure you will find lots of ways of using your new hexagon punch. The street party is a lovely idea and how lucky that the weather stayed dry for you all.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so beautiful in those colours Liz. Wow your area sounds lovely with people getting together like that. I love the invitations you have made, how gorgeous and special to get that through the door.

ReplyDeleteI love the patterns of your graphic design, Liz, and the way you popped in the white hello sediment with your doodled border! And go you for being the resident party girl! I love that you brought back such a wonderful community event ~ a bright spot in this scary world, so thank you for that! And thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
