X Fold Card

Welcome to my new follower, Caty of 'Katyazur sobre el espejo del mar'.  I hope you can stop by my blog again soon.

Butterfly Challenge #141 began today and unlike the last one where I just about got my card made before the challenge closed, this time I'm joining in at the beginning of the challenge.  The theme is 'X for X Fold'.  You can find a tutorial HERE.

The patterned paper was from an old paper pad called 'Riverbank Revels'. I made the frames with a Memory Box 'Stitched Scalloped Circle' die and a plain Spellbinders circle die.  I used an SB circle die for the swinging circle.  I die cut two circles and put them back to back with the thread running through the middle.  I put a Simply Creative 'Butterfly' die cut on both sides. On one side I stamped 'Happy Birthday' and on the other, 'It's YOUR day!'.

Snowdrop

My friend's husband collects different varieties of snowdrops and he has dozens of them!  I wanted to make a birthday card for him with a snowdrop on.  As it was a masculine card, I decided to keep CAS in black and white, with a touch of silver.  I love snowdrops too, as they are the first sign of spring in the garden.

I used a Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' die and layered the die cut over the white card blank.  The black and silver snowdrop is a peel off.  I used three small circles from the same peel off sheet in the top corner.

Waterfall Card

Has anyone else lost track of the dates..... or even which day of the week it is?  I realised this afternoon that the Butterfly Challenge closes today.  The theme this time is 'W for Waterfall Card'.  Mrs A has put a good tutorial on the blog HERE.  I changed the card size to 6" x 4" and tucked the little flaps keeping the waterfall part in place underneath.

The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up and the butterfly is a stamp from the SU 'Positive Thoughts' set, coloured with a Promarker.  The squares are Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' and I added three tiny green pearls and a ribbon through the SU punched tag end.

The sentiment stamp is from the SU 'Humming Along' set.

Rudolph Days

The Rudolph Days Challenge started a couple of days ago and runs until the end of the month.  I've made a CAS card, which I think would be good for batch making.

I used an MFT 'Christmas Tree Window' die in a piece of white card slightly smaller than the red card blank.  The aperture in the tree was backed with a snippet of green alcohol inked card which was in my box of backgrounds I made some time ago.  I used the die again in a snippet of gold card and inlaid the star.  The sentiment was a stamp from the SU 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with a Delicata red, metallic inkpad.

While I had the stamp out, I used it again on this card.  The image is a recycled shop bought Christmas card, that was too nice to throw away, layered on a piece of red cardstock.   So, a really quick and easy card to add to my pile Christmas cards.
