Z Fold Card

It's the 1st September tomorrow and I need to make 14 cards for birthdays and anniversaries this month!  I think September is the busiest month for sending cards for me..... apart from Christmas.  I've already made six cards, so thought I'd better crack on with the rest.  I saw that the Diva Cut Divas Challenge ends in a few hours, with the theme of 'Make a Z Fold Card', so that was the inspiration for my masculine card.

The patterned paper was from an old Dovecraft paper pad.  I used an unbranded Happy Birthday die I bought from eBay quite a few years ago and layered it on a red mat, die cut with a Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die.  I used a punch for the small stars.

To finish off my card I added a plain panel for the message.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Birthday

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Donna has chosen the theme 'Birthdays', so a nice easy theme, although there is always the Anything Goes option.  I've  made a Hexagonal Floating Card after watching Paul Ford's video HERE.

The patterned papers are from The Range.  I die cut a Sue Wilson 'Majestic Monarch' butterfly.  I attached the butterfly to the clear acetate panel down the front of the card.  This is the element which makes the butterfly appear to be floating.

There are two stamp sets each for two lucky randomly drawn winners.

Twofer

Two cards to share today.   I'm on a mission to finish off unfinished cards and to reduce my ribbon mountain.

This card was in my unfinished pile, with just the leaf patterned paper (from the The Range) and the purple mat attached to the card blank.  I intended using it for another card, but changed my mind and made a totally different card.  To complete this card, I used a floral stamp from the Julie Hickey 'Friendship Blooms' set and coloured the flower with Promarkers.  I stamped the flower head again, coloured it with the same Promarker and fussy cut it.  I layered the fussy cut flower head on top of the original flower, using glue in the middle and foam pads on the petals to raise them up.  A pink enamel dot was added to the centre.  The sentiment was a stamp from the 'Friendship Blooms' set.

My second card is a Christmas card as the August Rudolph Days Challenge ends in a couple of days.

I used an Inkylicious stamp 'Christmas Deer (Happy)', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne'.  It was a recent charity shop buy, which I used today for the first time.  I don't think it had previously been used and as it's dated 2012 on the packet, it was about time it was inked up.    I used two dies from the Sue Wilson 'Double Pierced Circles' set, chopping off the bottom of the layered image. The background was embossed with a Sue Wilson 'Frosted Stripes' embossing folder.  I added a strip of ribbon, layered on red panel.  To finish off my card, I added three clear gems to the largest snowflakes in the image to add some sparkle.

Travel Tag

The Tag-along (and ATCs) August Challenge ends tomorrow, so I've made a tag to enter before the challenge closes.  The theme this Month is 'Travel'.

The tag shape was made with a Stampin' Up tag punch and I corner rounded the bottom corners .  I made a mask for the stencilling using dies from a new Spellbinders 'Color Block Cloudscape' set and used an Adirondack 'Sail Boat Blue' ink pad for the stencilling.  I used the tag punch again with a snippets of white card to add a top to the tag, colouring it first with the ink I'd used on the cloud stencilling.  The balloon is a Memory Box 'Hot Air Balloon' die cut, it's a small version of the one I used HERE.  To finish of my card I used white Ric Rac instead of ribbon or twine, as it seemed to match the shape of the clouds.
