Christmas Pop-up Box Card

I love seeing the pop-up box cards other people have put on their blogs, but they always look really complicated to make. So, today was the day I decided to go for it and make one.

This started out as a practice one, to get the feel of how they are made.  However, when I discovered how easy to make they actually are, and realising it's the start of the August Rudolph Days Challenge (which runs until the end of the month), I got out some Christmas paper and snippets to punch out some trees and snowflakes and completed the card.  Next time I'll change a few things, such as putting the cardboard strips inside lower down so they are less visible, but overall I was pleased with how it turned out and I'm sure I'll be making more pop-up box cards in the future.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  3. That's gorgeous, it's really hard to believe that it's your first. I have all the templates saved but I've still not plucked up courage to try

  17. Wonderful box card Liz - and isn't it strange how many folk who've never tried making one are intimidated and yet once they do try they realise it isn't a 'black art' after all :) I love the idea of making Christmas ones!!

  19. It's lovely, Liz. I'm the same with being quite intimidated by the folds - they look so complex. You did a splendid job with your first one, and no one will ever guess this is your debut effort. Love the pretty design papers used and the sweet little trees & snowflakes that are popping out of it. Well done!! TFS (yep, Di called it right: Black art - it's scary!)
