I love seeing the pop-up box cards other people have put on their blogs, but they always look really complicated to make. So, today was the day I decided to go for it and make one.
This started out as a practice one, to get the feel of how they are made. However, when I discovered how easy to make they actually are, and realising it's the start of the August Rudolph Days Challenge (which runs until the end of the month), I got out some Christmas paper and snippets to punch out some trees and snowflakes and completed the card. Next time I'll change a few things, such as putting the cardboard strips inside lower down so they are less visible, but overall I was pleased with how it turned out and I'm sure I'll be making more pop-up box cards in the future.
I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

ReplyDeleteYou did a terrific job for your first pop up card. I love the paper and the snowflakes and trees are so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous, it's really hard to believe that it's your first. I have all the templates saved but I've still not plucked up courage to try
ReplyDeleteJane
Go for it Jane, they really are so much easier to make than they look. xx
DeleteNever made one of these but yours certainly looks stunning!

You did a great job on this! I made one and never liked it much, so I never tried making another! I love the Christmas trees that pop out - very cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful. I have not tried these yet either. I think you have done a great job here! That brown and white DP used on the exterior of the box is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in the August Rudolph Days Challenge.
I'd be more than pleased! So cute and I've yet to even attempt one. Love it.

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Liz and as you say quite easy to make and so effective.

Wonderful box card Liz - and isn't it strange how many folk who've never tried making one are intimidated and yet once they do try they realise it isn't a 'black art' after all :) I love the idea of making Christmas ones!!

Awesome box card Liz, you've done a great job! I love the Christmas theme, the snowflakes and trees are fabulous... great choice of papers too.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy
It's lovely, Liz. I'm the same with being quite intimidated by the folds - they look so complex. You did a splendid job with your first one, and no one will ever guess this is your debut effort. Love the pretty design papers used and the sweet little trees & snowflakes that are popping out of it. Well done!! TFS (yep, Di called it right: Black art - it's scary!)
ReplyDeleteGreat box card xx
ReplyDeleteI have thought the same as you regarding Pop Up Box cards - maybe I should be brave and give one a go! I love the paper you have used. Thank you for joining in the challenge at CHNC Extra for August.
ReplyDeleteA great pop up card - love the design.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at Little Claire.
