The theme of the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Critters'. Two cards using the prompt word, making two different designs for two different occasions, using the same stamp, die or stencil.
I used a Hobby Art 'Medium Daisy Cat' rubber stamp on both my cards. I've no idea how long I've had it, but it's my favourite cat stamp and I know I bought it well over 10 years ago.
I am joining in the Twofer Challenge #20 with this pair of cards.
My first card is for my great niece, who will soon be celebrating her 11th birthday. The card blank was cut with a Press Cut 'Step Card' die. The image was stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers, before die cutting with a Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle Layers' die. The sentiment is computer generated and printed in grey and the tiny hearts are the waste from a Memory Box 'Heart of Hearts' die. The side panels are punched with a paw print border punch. Six tiny pearls finished off my card. All the card, except for the card base, was snippets so I'll be off to share my card in the Playground.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
My second card uses the same cat stamp, again coloured with Promarkers. The image and mat were die cut with Memory Box 'Stitched Oval Layers' dies and raised up on foam tape. I attached a strip of white card to the back of the ribbon to keep it looking white, then layered over a slightly wider strip of coloured card. I'm not quite sure what colour to call the card.....it's not really orange and not really brown. I guess it's sort of 'ginger'. As the paw prints on the ribbon are brown, I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers 'Doodled Flowers' set of stamps with Versafine 'Vintage Sepia'.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
Adorable cat stamp, love the smile on it's face, two beautiful cards Liz
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards Liz, I love the ribbon with the paw prints and also the die you've used down the side of the top card.

Two super cat cards using this great stamp which I believe I might have hidden away amongst my 'old fashioned' wooden backed stamps!!
ReplyDeleteThis one is wooden backed too, bought in the days when they all seemed to be wood mounted! LOL! I still haven't been brave enough to prise any off them off the wood so I can use them with a stamp platform. xx
DeleteI can see why it's your favorite cat stamp. It's so cute. It has a great smiling face on it. Both of your cards are adorable. [Bunny]``
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards Liz, the cat stamp is very sweet, think it's the one that got the cream! I have some treasured wood backed stamps that I return to time and again, did remove a couple from the wood but it felt like vandalism!!!

What a sweet cat image Liz and two beautiful Twofer cards. With the stepper it makes a wonderful card for your great niece, and the second using the stitched oval shape to frame it works well for a 'get well' card and I adore the paw prints and both so pretty, with great colours too. x
ReplyDeleteTwo fun cards for Twofer. I love the look on the cat's face!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous cards and love the cat image and the smuggy looking face...adorable x
ReplyDeleteJust delightful, Liz! I love me some critters and yours are just so sweet - very classic and elegant cards, both of them! xx

I think "Medium Daisy Cat" should be called "Miss Diva Cat," don't you, Liz? She is somethin' else and she knows it! You've made her adorable on both designs! Your great-niece will love her in gray against that bold purple backdrop with all the paw prints, scallops, stitching, and bling touches! And as a ginger cat, she looks divine in her blue daisy necklace and fab paw print ribbon! The ginger color matches the lovely ginger of your blog side panels! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #20! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteTwo very sweet creations using the Cat image Liz, many thanks for sharing with us at Penny Black and More 'Animals' challenge.

Oh these are adorable, Liz! I had a little gray cat named Pixie, and he thought he was "all that and more," and not at all as sweet as your darling kitty! I'm guessing that your great-niece will love this birthday card! All the little details make this extra special! And I'm rather partial to ginger...I've got a ginger grandboy! Two fabulous designs, and two darling cards! Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev
