Lots of Circles

The theme of the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Circles/Bubbles'.   Two different designs, for two different occasions, using the same die, stamp or stencil.

I used the same large Memory Box stitched circle die on both cards.

I am joining in the Twofer Challenge with this pair of cards.

My first card is a CAS Anniversary card.  I made a purple frame with two of the Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies. I used the smaller circle again to die cut a white circle, which I then embossed with an Xcut 'Small Polka Hearts' e/f and inlaid it into the purple frame.  I put a Poppystamps 'Small Tilda Swirl' die cut in the middle and a small punched white heart on top.  The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons, layered on a slightly wider strip of purple card.  The circle is raised up on foam tape.

I am joining in the following challenges:

For my second card I made a Triple Stamping card.  I've made a few of these in the past, but never with circles, so this was a sort of experiment.  I used the Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies to die cut two white circles and two green circles.  I layered the two white circles in the centre of the square piece of white card with repositionable adhesive.  I stamped all over with stamps from the Stampin' Up 'Flower Shop' and 'Thoughtful Blooms' sets.   I coloured in all the large flowers with two red Promarkers.  I layered up the circles and both green circles are attached with foam tape to add some dimension.  The sentiment is a stamp from the SU 'Best Year' set.  The Flower Shop stamps are a preloved set I recently bought and as they are NBUS to me I'll be joining in Darnell's NBUS Challenge.

I am joining in the following challenges:

Last weekend I should have been at a Stampin' Up Crafty Retreat.  However, due to the current situation this was not possible.  Instead we had a one day Lockdown Crafty Retreat using Zoom.  All the materials were sent out and these are the card I made during our Zoom meeting.

  8. Two fantastic cards Liz and love the way you have used the circles and love the purple anniversary card with the pretty little embossed hearts and the circular motif and little heart in the centre, and what a wonderful ribbon which complements it perfectly. The second card is my favourite with the gorgeous red flowers and green star shaped motif all over and the circles layered up and matted on to that beautiful matching fresh green card look great. Thank you for the heads up about the Crafty Calendar Challenge and I have now added my card. I should have remembered as you are on the DT but I didn't..lol. x

  9. I have to start with your birthday design, Liz. I cannot believe you made that beautiful DSP! I mean, I can believe it, but I truly thought it was professional store-bought pp! I love it and I love the way you framed your circles alternating with the pretty pp and the green! Your anniversary card design is also beautiful in purple and white with lots of heart texture and details! The circle frame really draws the eyes to that great swirl focal point!

And whoa, you guys don't mess around! We feel productive when we make five cards at our SU workshops!! Each one is a bit of work, too, so I'm really impressed! Thanks for sharing all the design ideas and thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #28 and at NBUS! Keep well and creative! Hugs, Darnell

  17. My daughter's favorite color is purple, so right away the anniversary card caught my eye. It's really lovely, and I love all the details you've added to it, yet it has kept its CAS look. Very pretty! And those red flowers...What a treat to see them! I love the green circles and will say that your 'experiment' was a complete success!! Gorgeous card! So sorry your retreat got cancelled. I know how fun it is to gather with crafty friends, and this dumb old virus has really put the kibosh on that this year!! But your Zoom cards turned out amazingly, and I'm happy you got to join in that way. Enjoy your week. Thanks for joining us at The Twofer Challenge! Bev

  23. I love your twofers. Both are so well designed and I agree with Darnell that designer paper is awesome. And, looks like your Zoom meeting went great as you still got so much accomplished. It shows that where there is a will there is a way to get things done. My internet is so bad this summer that I am very limited on my participation in things via the internet.

  25. Lovely circle cards Liz especially the poppy one. Your own stamped and coloured poppy design is amazing!
Is the frame for your sentiment a die or a punch? A super shape which I’ve not seen before.

Your zoom craft days are obviously great fun, such a gorgeous selection of floral cards.

    1. I used a SU punch for the sentiment called 'Lovely Labels Pick a Punch'. You cut one end at a time, so you can make the label whatever length you like. There are two different shaped ends and three different widths to choose from. xx
