A card today which I made recently for a card swap. The recipient loves cats, so this was a starting point for my card. The card is cream, although it looks for white in the photo. It's so difficult taking photos in the dull weather, I think I need to get a light box so my photos show the true colours. Any recommendations gratefully received! 😊
I started with a 6" x 6" square cream card blank to make my easel card. I used a Creative Expressions 'Pawprint Lattice' embossing folder for the background. I die cut two cream Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die cuts and hand cut a black mat inbetween the two sizes of the squares. After layering them together, I added a Spellbinders 'Pawing around (Cat)' die cut. The cream and black cat ribbon was attached over a strip of black card and raised up on foam tape so the easel card stands up. The sentiment was a stamp from Happy Little Stampers 'Birthday Friends' set.
I am joining in the following challenges:
I have this die and have used it lots and for different occasions. Love your beautiful card and I'm sure the recipient did as well!

A very effective monochromatic easel card Liz, many thanks for joining in with our 'Four Legged Friends' theme at Allsorts challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteI bought a lightbox from Amazon last year for that very reason, if I can find the link I'll come back and leave for you.

This is the one I bought Liz, wasn't sure it would still be listed as they change their stock so often, looks a long link so by all means dump this comment:

DeleteFabulous make Liz love your layout and beautiful cat elements
ReplyDeleteA great card for a cat lover. Sorry can't recommend anything for photographing cards. I usually scan mine but of course that doesn't work with easel cards and the like.
ReplyDeleteAmazing easel, Liz!! Really elegant and striking!
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem with taking photos when there are clouds or rain!

Hi Liz
ReplyDeleteA great easel card and I love the cat dies. My son and his wife adopted two black cats around this time last year .. .. now suddenly everything seems to be cat related where they are concerned. LOL!!
Hope all is well with you.
Love Jules xx
This is so cute and just perfect for a cat lover! I love that ribbon - I thought those were all die-cut cats until I read your description! Well done!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Liz, a super monochrome design.

What a creative card. Love the fold and the cat theme and the recipient it going to love it x. Adorable embossing folder too x. I will pop back and see Brenda's recommendation as I need a light box too x.
ReplyDeleteA Beautiful B&W card Liz, love those cats, and the centre die. As for a lightbox, I went to choose one for my Christmas pressie, and couldn't make up my mind, either too big or too small or much too expensive, so I hope someone can help you, then they can help me too hahaha.

This is awesome for a cat lover. The die is great and that ribbon is adorable. I can never get a good picture of my cards, they are always crooked so I'm no help at all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great easel card. The cats look so cute. Love that great embossing. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteWonderful design for the cat lovers. I love the cream and black together too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. It is annoying when colours don't photograph true to the colour. I have had the same issue from time to time but so far not with cream.
ReplyDeleteStunning card, Liz! Thanks for joining the fun at Let's Squash It! Jo x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Liz, so elegant looking! I love the cat embossing folder, it is so cool looking, but yet so elegant. The die cut of the cat is perfect and again...them of this card is just elegant! Love that cat ribbon as well. Such a beautiful card for any cat lover. It is dreary where I'm at too, actually it is snowing right now. I know nothing about light boxes and just try and auto fix the lightening on my photo's in a free software program I use. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThe black and white looks fabulous Liz but the EF adds another fabulous dimension. I bet your swapee loved it!! xx
