The theme of the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Flowers'. Two cards with different designs, for two different occasions, using the same die, stamp or stencil.
The flower die I used on both cards is the Memory Box 'Splendid Poppy Stem'. It's a NBUS die, so I'll be able to share it over in Darnell's NBUS challenge.
I am joining in the following challenges with this pair of cards:
For my first card I made a Tower card, which are so much easier to make than they look. It measure 6" by just under 6" when folded flat. I made it just under 6" wide so it will fit in a standard envelope. I used a Lisa Horton 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder for the background. The die cuts on the side panels are Memory Box 'Latchette Border'. The sentiment from the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set of stamps was stamped with Versafine Clair 'Paradise'.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
For my second card I used on of the dies from the Lisa Horton 'Stitched Layered Rectangles' set and layered it on the card blank. I die cut the Memory Box 'Spendid Poppy Stem' twice in white and layered one of top of the other to add some dimension. Before attaching it to the card I coloured it with pale Promarkers. The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' set and stamped in Versafine Clair 'Morning Mist'. I finished off my card with three pale pink pearls.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
Two brilliant cards Liz and love the super shape of the first with the wonderful bright blue quilted EF used as a background to the pretty flowers and with two die cut borders to match, and the the really elegant look of the second with the scalloped matted layer and the flowers coloured in that lovely soft pink..perfect for a sympathy card. x
ReplyDeleteLiz, these are just fabulous! I love the flower you chose I plan to play along this time and already chose one - thanks for the inspiration! xx
ReplyDeleteI'll have to take your word that the "tower" card is easier than it looks Liz, because it looks a little complicated to me! However, it sure is a WOW card and I'm loving every detail of it!! Loving that embossed background piece to showcase your flowers too! And your sympathy card is CAS perfection...absolutely beautiful!! Lovely, lovely cards Liz and thanks so much for sharing them with us at The Twofer Challenge!! :0)

Two beautiful cards for the twofer, that blue is so striking, I see you've used the lovely quilted EF again - it is so nice isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe quilted embossing folder is so pretty and the Poppy Stem flower has such detail. Both cards are lovely designs, even though the tower card looks hard.
ReplyDeleteThe Tower card really is easy, Brenda. Just six score lines and half inch cuts. I think this is the link to the video I watched before I made my first one. https://mixedupcraft.com/2018/05/16/double-tower-card/
DeleteOH! I love that EF with the flowers and a gorgeous die and fold, the CAS card is just wonderful and so pretty Liz.
