Sunflower Interlocking Gatefold Card

A birthday card today for someone who loves Sunflowers.

I made this card with an interlocking circle across the middle of the card to keep the card closed.  The Cheery Lynn 'Sunflower' was layered on Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cuts.  The patterned paper is from an old Papermania paper pad, the sentiment from Lisa Horton's box kit and I added three tiny punched flowers to the front.

For the interlocking part, I folded an extra die cut circle in half and attached it the back of the decorated circle.  When the card is closed the right hand side of the card slips in the folded circle.  I hope that makes sense!  I put an extra little punched sunflower inside for added interest.

    Very pretty. I think everyone loves sunflowers. They are so pretty. Especially the big giant ones. I've often stopped and asked to have the head of the flower after it has started drying out so that I can have it for the birds in my back yard.     I love your interlocking gate fold card Liz! It is bright and sunny, beautiful papers and I just love the flower. I've made interlocking gatefold cards before, but it has been quite a while ago! I do love how they keep the card closed until it is ready to be opened. Hugs, Brenda
