International Women's Day
8th March 2022
Thinking especially of all the Ukrainian women today who are affected by the conflict.
#StayStrong
I used a Lisa Horton's 'Padded Quilt' embossing folder for the background and added a white strip of card across the middle. The sunflower is a Cheery Lynn die cut. I cut the flower out twice to make the flower fuller and raised it up on foam pads. The sentiment is a SU stamp and I finished off my card with four Card Candi. All the card, except for the card base was from my snippets draw, so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.
I am joining in the following challenges:
When Di sent out the prizes for the Grand Draw, she included a little notelet with the challenge to upcycled the notelet into a new card. I kept it quite simple, by cutting off the notelet front, corner rounding the corners and layering on a pink mat. The card base and larger mats were corner rounded too and I added a silver mirror card die cut sentiment and three heart. The finished card was sent back to Di.
Great card - that is a really good embossing folder and I like the idea of doing it in two colours. I'd forgotten we were challenged to use this little card from the prize draw 😉 still have mine somewhere
ReplyDeleteHappy International Women's Day to you Liz

ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful card using the Ukrainian flag colours and another pretty sunflower, and the quilted background and sentiment are perfect, then the little card which came with a prize from Di..you have made a beautiful finished card and the pink from the multi-coloured tree works beautifully for the mats and layers, and I love the shine of the silver die cut hearts and sentiment as finishing touches. I have this tree too but haven't done anything with it yet...I will have to think on this. x
