The Rudolph Days Challenge begins today and Maureen has passed the reins over to Helen Nile to run the challenge. Many thanks to both Maureen and Helen. You can now find the Rudolph Days Challenge HERE, so we can all continue to keep on track with making our Christmas cards this year and inspire each other.
I'm planning to recycle as many of the cards we received last Christmas as I can and turn them into new cards. This is the first one. I used Lisa Horton's 'Scalloped Layered Squares Dies' to die cut the shop bought card and matt gold card. I put a clear gem in the middle to add a little sparkle.
I am joining in the following challenge:
Recycling is the best you can do and...making a card with used items is fun! This one is so nice.

I'm all for a bit of recycling and have kept my cards to use - must look through them for inspiration. This one is great
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, I love the upcycled card, I used a tag die to make gift tags out of our old Christmas cards. Have a wonderful week... Megan
ReplyDeleteGreat recycling Liz, very effective as well. I too recycle and they all go to the RSPCA and Wood Green.

I had not realised that the Rudolph Days challenge had a new home, which is great, and I love your upcycled card front which is extremely pretty with the snowflake and the gold scalloped mat shows it off beautifully Liz. x
ReplyDeleteYour recycled card is beautiful Liz,far too nice to discard
ReplyDeleteThat's a genius idea to recycle last year's cards, and this turned out so pretty! Well done!
ReplyDeleteJust to mention - my SIL is 18 today on Feb 29th too! LOL
DeleteHope your SIL enjoyed her special day. xx
DeleteA wonderful way to recycle and not just put those beautiful cards in a box somewhere. Everyone gets to enjoy them now. You did a great job of showcasing this card and it is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteGreat recycling.
ReplyDeleteIt's always satisfying to create something new from something that would have been thrown away, your upcycled card is beautiful Liz.

Definitely too pretty to throw away and made for a great new card! I always plan to do some recycling, but I have sooooo many Christmas stamps & dies I need to use!
ReplyDeleteGreat recycling Liz, and love that Lisa Horton's scallop stitched frame! I have a BIG box of commercial cards to reuse and have to begin!
ReplyDeleteGreat recycling of your Christmas cards. Happy Rudolph Day! x
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
ReplyDeletethank you for the info of the challenge as I kept putting in the challenge blog in the search engine and it kept coming up not known.
I even spelt it a few different ways and it still said not known.
I love your wonderful re-cycled card and your fabulous design.
I have a few I kept too and will re-cycle mine at some point as some are too pretty to throw away.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Beautiful card. Hugs and blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz
ReplyDeleteA great idea to recycle your cards .. .. it is a shame to just throw them away.
Even when recycling through our local council they have very strict rules as to what can and can't be on the card front .. .. so keeping them and turning them into another card completely is just perfect. I have never turned mine into another Christmas card but do cut them with a tag die to make labels for Christmas gifts.
Hope you have had a good weekend.
Love Jules xx
Great recycling and a very elegant design.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your card and supporting the Rudolph Days Challenge.

A gorgeous card Liz. I was going to do it, left my cards out to cut them down, hubby thought they were finished with and out they went! Oh! well, maybe next year?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Liz - this one looks really good with the statement snowflake and touches of sparkle.

I love that you are reusing cards to make new. This is a gorgeous snowflake and makes for a wonderful second card. I love using my previous cards for tags for the next year.
ReplyDeleteI’m a great fan of upcycling received cards. It’s such a shame to just put them in the bin. You’ve made a great card.
