Twofer

Two cards to share today.   I'm on a mission to finish off unfinished cards and to reduce my ribbon mountain.

This card was in my unfinished pile, with just the leaf patterned paper (from the The Range) and the purple mat attached to the card blank.  I intended using it for another card, but changed my mind and made a totally different card.  To complete this card, I used a floral stamp from the Julie Hickey 'Friendship Blooms' set and coloured the flower with Promarkers.  I stamped the flower head again, coloured it with the same Promarker and fussy cut it.  I layered the fussy cut flower head on top of the original flower, using glue in the middle and foam pads on the petals to raise them up.  A pink enamel dot was added to the centre.  The sentiment was a stamp from the 'Friendship Blooms' set.

My second card is a Christmas card as the August Rudolph Days Challenge ends in a couple of days.

I used an Inkylicious stamp 'Christmas Deer (Happy)', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne'.  It was a recent charity shop buy, which I used today for the first time.  I don't think it had previously been used and as it's dated 2012 on the packet, it was about time it was inked up.    I used two dies from the Sue Wilson 'Double Pierced Circles' set, chopping off the bottom of the layered image. The background was embossed with a Sue Wilson 'Frosted Stripes' embossing folder.  I added a strip of ribbon, layered on red panel.  To finish off my card, I added three clear gems to the largest snowflakes in the image to add some sparkle.

  8. The Julie Hickey flower is so pretty Liz and I love the purple dimensional flower head which coordinates beautifully with the purple layer on the card, and the leaves dp is perfect. I love the twofer too and the great shape of the stamped Christmas deer image which works beautifully in black on white with the red matted layers and the pretty added ribbon across the card, and the snowflake striped EF makes a wonderful background. x

  13. Both cards are such a treat to see! The layered flower with its raised petals and enamel dot center adds so much depth and charm—it's a beautiful way to bring new life to a card-in-waiting. And that Christmas deer stamp was a fantastic find! The crisp black on white, paired with the red accents and frosted embossing, gives it a wonderfully festive Nordic feel. Love how the ribbon echoes the candy cane vibe.
