Allsorts Challenge ~ Create Your Own Background

Donna has chosen the theme for this fortnight's Allsorts Challenge and theme is 'Create Your Own Background'.  As always, there is also Anything Goes option.

I was lucky enough to win this Visible Image 'Frosty' stencil in The Playground recently, so I gave it its first outing using Distress Oxide ink pads.   The sentiment is a Impression Obsession 'Thanks' die.  The orange and green card was all from my snippets drawer.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

The stencil I used was a 6 x 6 one, so I made a second card using the strip of stencilled card left over.  There was enough orange and green card left too.

The flower is a Memory Box 'Prim Poppy' die cut, using one of my favourite flower dies.  I cut the flower out in green first and then just the flower heads in orange and layered them on top of the green.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
As You Like It Challenge ~ Favourite Die and why (I've had this die for over ten years and I love the simplicity of the design.  It's perfect for so many occasions.)

The Allsorts prize this time is a set of four background stamps from AALL and Create.

  1. A great way to use the stencil which you won recently and excellent colour choices too. Love your background and that flower die is a favourite of mine too

  2. BOTH cards are absolutely fabulous Liz. Great to see you using your prize - and getting a twofer out of your stencilling. The Prim Poppy die is lovely and sits perfectly alongside the stencilled strip. xxx

  4. The frosty stencil looks amazing in these colors, and the soft blending gives the background such a smooth, wintry glow. The twofer is a brilliant use of the leftover strip, and the poppy die adds a clean, elegant contrast. Both designs feel fresh and beautifully balanced, with the snippets used so thoughtfully.

  10. Two brilliant though very different cards, Liz. I love that stencil - I find it very versatile and have used it to represent frost or even fireworks! That is also a favourite flower die of mine - so elegant! Xx
