The theme of the April Crafty Calendar Challenge is 'Die Cuts/Punches'. I made this masculine card for my brother using two different dies.
The patterned paper is from Anna Marie Designs. I found a piece of white card in my snippets drawer which was already embossing with a Creative Expressions 'Cogs & Gears' embossing folder. I cut it into a long panel and layered it on a black mat. I used a Memory Box 'Gearworks Border' die with silver mirror card and layered the die cut over the embossed panel. I used one of the dies from the Xcut 'Cogs Chronology' set with a snippet of black card to add a cog to the top right hand corner.
The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on 28th April, so please hop over to the challenge blog to see all the beautiful creations the DT have made for inspiration.

Fabulous masculine card using these great dies
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice of dies for this great masculine card and the embossed piece was a lucky find. I think your brother will love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking masculine design. The combination of the embossed cogs and the layered die‑cut gears creates such a strong industrial feel, and the silver mirror card adds just the right amount of shine without overwhelming the layout. The long embossed panel works beautifully as an anchor for the design, and the extra cog in the corner finishes everything with great balance.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great card Liz! Happy Easter!

Hi Liz, that's a fabulous masculine card - love the simplicity of the design but when you look closer there is interest in both layers and texture. Sarah
