Masculine Card

It was my hubby's birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for him.  Thankfully I made it a few weeks ago, before my little accident, otherwise he might have had a shop bought card! 😮I'm getting more proficient at typing with my left hand, although now the plaster cast is off and replaced with a splint and a wrist brace, I also have the use of my thumb and two fingers on my right hand.  I might even try a little crafting over the weekend.

I saw this style of card demonstrated on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page recently.  I altered the measurements to make a 7" x 7" card as it suited the die cut football better.  The patterned paper is from The Range.  The football is raised up on foam pads to add some dimension.  I didn't intend to put two small black pearls on the sentiment panel, but they are useful for covering a little smudge, aren't they. 😉

This is the back of the card with the blank panel, where a wrote the message.  I struggle at the moment to hold a pen in my right hand, so my writing looks like a five year old's, but it's even worse if I try to write with my left hand. đŸ¤Ŗ

  2. It's good that you thought ahead for hubby's birthday and got his card ready. It is a great masculine card. It sounds like you are right on track with healing. Still, take it easy and don't get in a hurry. Time heals all ( supposedly).

  5. Many years ago I had a cast on my right hand and by the time it was off I was getting very good at using my left hand . . . I wish that I would have kept it up so that I would be proficient with both, but I didn't. The one thing that I just couldn't do was button and zip my pants, so I had to go shopping for elastic waist bands. That was the only way that I could manage going back to work. Never missed a day, LOL
Very sweet card and I know that your husband treasures it :)

  9. The fun fold works so well for a masculine design and the larger format really lets the football take center stage, especially with the added lift from the foam pads. The patterned paper adds great movement without overwhelming the layout, and the little pearls on the sentiment panel look like an intentional detail that ties everything together. The back panel is such a smart addition for a clean writing space, and the whole card feels thoughtful, bold, and perfectly tailored for a birthday celebration.

  11. This is an interesting shape for this fun football card for your hubby Liz, with the two pieces held together by the topper, and the two different blue and white papers look great. I'm glad you have a little more use of your hand now the plaster is off. x

  14. I've never seen this style of card fold before and it really works well. I thought the black pearls were planned and loved your comment about covering up small smudges - LOL - and yes they do. Fantastic card.
