On the Beach

Welcome to my new follower, Gerrina of Gerrina's Creatieve Wereld.  Thank you for following me, I hope you visit again soon.

The theme of The Craft Barn Challenge this fortnight is a beach scene, which must contain a beach hut.  The closing date is in a few hours, so this card jumped up to the top of my 'cards to make' list.

I made the background scene using a Lil' inker Designs 'Cloudy Sky' die with blue card.   The die leaves cloud shaped apertures, so I put a piece of  white card behind. The sand is gold glitter card, which really sparkles IRL.  The beach hut is a Joanna Sheen 'Signature' die, which cuts and embosses and the little door opens. I backed the beach hut with a small piece of silver pearlised paper so you don't see the sky when you open the door!   I didn't have a sun die, that's still on my wish list, so I used a small flower punch and added a small circle on the top.  The sea is a MB 'Oceana Border' die cut and I used MB 'Stitched Squares and Rectangles' for matting and layering.   Everything apart from the base card was snippets, so I'll be off to play in The Playground.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. Super little scene. I guess the beach hut could also double up as a garden shed too. I like the cloud foe too. Much easier then trying to cut out cloud shapes and masking off the background to create. Hugs Mrs A.

    1. What a great idea to turn the beach hut into a garden this space! x
