The 'That's Crafty' challenge theme is 'Zesty Zing'. Now orange is a colour I very rarely use on my cards, but I guess it fits into the theme with the zesty colours of lemon and lime, so this took me a bit out of my comfort zone. I had an idea in my head for a design....but this wasn't it....apart from the stamp. My card sort of evolved as I went along.
The stamp is an old wood mounted Stampendous stamp, 'Glasgow Rose Garden'. I stamped it in the top corner of the card blank and coloured it with Promarkers. I used a MB 'Grand Happy Birthday' die and attached the die cut over the bottom of the card. I decided it looked too plain to leave it as it was, so I added a Poppystamp 'Small Flower Box' die cut, attached with foam pads to give a little dimension. I didn't have any small green pearls, so I coloured three white ones with the Promarker I used for the leaves. So that is my card, which looks nothing like I intended!

Love this ziggy zesty card Debbs xx
ReplyDeleteAmazing Liz...Love the zingy colours and how you's stamped the flowers on the right hand side and popped them into the raised up flower box. Loving this card x
ReplyDeleteI often find I start with a plan but it takes on a life of its own. The card is lovely and summery though, very cheerful.
ReplyDeleteI love this card, great colours and design.

CUTE Liz! You have given me an idea for some cuts my friend gave me. I have never known what to do with the Happy Birthday one, I love how you added the flowers on top!

THis is so pretty with that flaming orange color! Love the split-color sentiment too!
ReplyDeleteWow! Glasgow Rose Garden - totally love it! Is it still around? Love the orange and yellows.
ReplyDeleteI must have bought it at least 10 years ago, so it's probably been discontinued. I can't remember seeing it anywhere recently. :-( xx

I'm the same Liz, my cards start off one way and finish another ..lol I love the way this turned out though. That orange is gorgeous and the flowers in their box work beautifuly with the Happy Birthday die along the bottom and has given somewhere for the flowers to sit so prettily. x
ReplyDeleteOh this is fun! I love the 2 different panels with the dies, happy to see you at HLS.
