Geometric Pattern

A second post today as I'm trying to catch up with a few challenges.  The Less is More challenge this week is a One Layer with 'Geometric Shapes or Patterns'.

I masked off half a Creative Expressions 'Stripy Spots' stencil and used Adirondack Red Pepper, Sunset Orange and Sunshine Yellow ink pads to create an ombre effect.  The ink was applied with Ink Dusters.  Does anyone else hold their breath when they stamp the sentiment on a one layer card - hoping it stamps cleanly the first time? The worst that can happen is another sentiment needs to be added over the top on a die cut, but that would be no good for a one layer card.  Luckily it stamped fine first time.  Phew!

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  3. This is really fab. I love the colour shading and the stripy circles are brilliant! I hold my breath the entire time I'm making a OLC... maybe as I progress I can reduce it to just the sentiment! :D

  4. Awesome! Love the design on this wonderful one layer CAS card. and yes...I would definitely hold my breath stamping after all this work. That's when a Misti comes in handy! You can make certain the stamp is positioned correctly, and you can always reink if you don't get a good crisp image. Looks like you were absolutely successful here! TFS & Hugs

  6. Great masking and loving the ombre effect. Yes I'm a Misti lover too and I'm finding I stamp my sentiments more onto the cards now than I ever did before. Fabulous card for the challenge x

  7. Love the colour blend. Nope, not just you. I tend to have a couple of practice runs on scrap to see how it's stamping to give me an idea of how much pressure I need etc. I have told Hubby that I want a MISTI for Christmas though! Cara x

  9. Hi Liz,
what a very super card, and a brilliant design for a one layer challenge.
Great inking through the stencil, and gorgeous colours.
I am a bit of a coward as far as stamping straight onto card I'm afraid.
Not got the confidence to do it very often.
    Yours is perfect.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  14. Liz, thanks for letting me know you got the blogger issue solved. I knew you were already a follower, you're in my spreadsheet. Maybe this is the same kind of thing I'm encountering with not showing up on other blogs, but if I try to join, it tells me to sign in, when I think I AM signed in. I could be having the same problem as you did, and just don't realize it! Hugs

  16. A great design and fab colours. Yes it's always bad with a OLC to mess up at the last stage.

  20. Love those juicy colours, great results with your ink dusters (I keep forgetting about mine!) I have also recently purchased the Mini Misti, it's a considered purchase but so worth it for the sentiment stamping issue, hopefully no more messed up OLCs!
    Thanks for sharing with us.
