The Butterfly Challenge this fortnight is 'Butterflies + R is for Recycle and/or Ruby Red'. So, I decided to use both Recyling and Ruby Red.
Searching for something to recycle, I remembered some vertical blinds samples I had - I knew they would come in handy one day! I found two matching samples in a very pale beige and used them for the background. I love the effect of the texture of the material. I added a strip of card across the middle to hide the join. The image is SB 'Flutter Tree', which cuts out perfectly with a metal shim. I used a Sue Wilson 'Noble Double Pinpoint Rectangle' die to die cut the rectangle and also used the side of largest die to cut a matching strip for the middle.
I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:
Wonderfully done Liz love your beautiful card. And well done on the recycling I am still thinking and looking around ;-)

ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at what is being salvaged for recycling. Your textured blind samples are a perfect background and I just love the butterfly tree. I must go forth and purchase ASAP.!! Thank you for fluttering by my challenge where your card will be entered twice. Hugs Mrs A.

A great piece of recycling Liz! Certainly takes the place of an embossing folder ;-)

I know, I was only thinking when I made this card, which needed 'Ruby Red', that I've made lots of cards using red recently. I'll have to get out my blues, greens or purples next. ;-) xx
DeleteI love your card Liz. Great colours and I love the tree. Blind samples - now that's some great recycling. A super card for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge. Barbxx GDT
