A 70th birthday card for a friend we've known for over 30 years. He is a keen gardener and has his own allotment, so I wanted to make a card with a gardening theme.
I bought this pre-loved Art Impressions stamp on eBay at least eight or nine years ago for 99p including P & P. It was at the time when I'd just discovered eBay and it was one of those bargains which seemed too good to miss! I put in the minimum bid and no-one else wanted it, so it was added to my collection of wood mounted stamps. However, this is the first time I've used it! The image is stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers. The embossing folder I used is Cuttlebug 'Numbers Collage'. I used MB 'Stitched Oval' dies and Creative Expressions 'Stitched Flags' dies for matting and layering.

A great card using this jolly scarecrow and I'm sure your gardening friend will love it.
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is Liz, well at least that's what I tell myself constantly.
ReplyDeleteLove the scarecorow image and it's prefect for a keen gardener and the number embossing all adds to the lovely design. Many thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts, Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More challenges.

Fabulous scarecrow Liz. Love your colouring. I have a scarecrow stamp I bought at a show and think I have only used it twice at the most. Must get him out again. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card Liz! Love the image and the numbers background is awesome for this card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute scarecrow Liz and great to get an opportunity to ink him up and the numbers EF is perfect with it. I have quite a few stamps I have bought and not inked yet. I keep promising to get out a NBUS stamp/set every week and make two or three different cards with it, but it hasn't happened yet...lol. x
ReplyDeleteA bargain for 99p Liz and a fantastic stamp. I love him and can see why you bought him.
