I know my card has arrived at its destination in Scotland, so I can share it now on my blog.
As the thistle is the flower of Scotland, I knew this was the image I wanted to use. The thistle is a Woodware stamp and to make it two tone, I stamped it with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' after rubbing the ink off the flower ends and colouring with a purple Marvy pen instead. The image was coloured with Promarkers. I added a gold Card Candi to pick out the gold in the Stampin' Up plaid paper. The sentiment is a Stamps by Chloe stamp and the matted sentiment is raised up on foam pads.

This looks great on the blog but I can definitely say it looks amazing in real life...I am the lucky recipient of it, along with my wonderful prize from Liz x. The thistle image is contemporary and beautifully coloured and the plaid paper has striking gold lines and a shimmery effect to it. As I live in Scotland, Liz was so very thoughtful to make it for me. I truly appreciate it, thanks again and it's a keeper x.

Beautiful card with the thistle. I love the plaid you paired with it too. And I was surprised it was the flower of Scotland. Here on our farms we try to eradicate it as we think of it as a noxious weed. But I always did admire the pretty blooms they had.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you colored the thistle with a combo of ink and markers to give it a realistic look! A wonderful match to that great plaid too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card you created Liz.
