I recently received a card with this fold, which I think is known as a Pop-Up Easel Card. I've never tried this style of fold before, but thought I'd give it a try for a card I needed to make for card swap and this is what I came up with.
I started with a piece of cardstock 21cm x 21cm. I used a Couture Creations 'Fireflies' embossing folder for the white panels. The circles are all cut with Memory Box ' Stitched Circle Layers' dies and the flowers were made with punches.
The computer generated sentiment stands up as a little easel and the small sunflower is layered on a circle die cut and raised up on foam pads.
The base of the card can be twisted round to reveal a plain white panel for the message. The card folds flat for posting.
I am joining in the following challenges:
As promised in a previous post, here are the cards I made at a Stampin' Up retreat the weekend before last. I put the finishing touches to a few of the cards at home.
What a fabulous fun fold Liz your panels are beautiful love the clean lines and coloured borders
ReplyDeleteYou made a LOT of cards at that retreat! Know it was fun too.

Now that's an impressive fold Liz, looks very complicated! Lovely design, the white embossed background is a lovely contrast to the bright bold borders and die cuts.

It's surprising easy, Chris. I thought it was going to be complicated, but it's basically a square piece of card scored into quarters, one cut and two more score lines. xx
DeleteThis pop up easel is beautifully done Liz and love the colours and the background embossing and sweet punched flowers, and it is great that it folds flat for posting. What a lot of cards you managed to make at your Stamping Up retreat too, so varied and all so pretty. x

Fantastic card, I've not come across that fold before. I really like that you have used the plain background so that the sunflowers really pop. Thanks for sharing at Path of Positivity. Pippa DT
ReplyDeleteLiz, so happy to have found your blog and this fun fold! This is known as a 'corner fold' and very similar to one I created several years ago. This one is much simpler, however. Thanks for sharing yours! You inspired me to create one like this and it can be found here - http://lovetoscrap2.com/2020/03/02/just-dance - if you'd like to take a peek! I gave you credit in my blog post! ;)
