Thank You

Thank you for all the lovely comments made on my last post about my great nephew, Gilby.  I will make sure he reads them all.   I called in his house today to see my daughter and also help cut out some of the fabric and filters for the masks.  What I didn't realise until today is that Gilby is doing almost all of the sewing himself.  His Mum has taught him how use her sewing machine and he's confidently sewing the masks independently - and making a brilliant job of it.  Pretty amazing for a ten year old!

I made this card the other day for Gilby to thank him for looking after my daughter so well while she is recuperating with him and his family.
The stamp is a Woodward one, 'Graffiti Thank You', which I coloured with Promarkers.  I die cut the word image with a die from the 'Stitched Collection Scallop Layered Rectangle' set and layered it on a yellow mat.  I added a turquoise brad before attaching to the card blank.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

Here is a similar card I made a while ago, but forgot to blog, using different colours and adding some pink and white Card Candi, as I needed to make a more feminine card.

  2. Cute cards. Love the brad you added. I haven't used one of those in a long time. It's amazing what children can do. Their brains can certainly absorb a lot of information especially when it's something they enjoy doing. I'd be proud too. [Bunny]

  3. Two brilliant cards - those Woodware word stamps are great and I know I have one somewhere although it hasn't been used in a while, so your post is a handy reminder. Again well done Gilby

  14. I think Gilby's mum is to be commended for teaching him how to use her machine, love that he is sewing the masks mostly himself!! I have found that the youngsters can be great caregivers. This is an awesome card for him, it is so fun and artsy and I bet he will be thrilled with it! You might even get him into card making Liz! lol I really love that stamp you used. I can imagine it is fun coloring it too. Love both the blue and pink one! Hugs, Brenda

    1. I've already got him into cardmaking. lol! He often comes up to our caravan when we're there, as the school he attends is only a couple of miles away. Usually he asks to make cards when he comes as he knows I keep quite a lot of crafty stash there. I often make a fancy fold card for his birthday as I know he enjoys working out how I've made them. xx
