Happy Birthday

We're in another lockdown in the UK, not the start we all wanted for 2021 but at least the vaccines are being rolled out here, so hopefully there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

A masculine card today for a friend who will be celebrating his birthday this month.

I followed a sketch for this card, something which still takes me out of my comfort zone.  The patterned paper was from a Dovecraft 'Blue Skies' paper pad.  I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' e/f for the embossing.  The navy blue dots are the waste from a die cut used on another project.  I die cut the yacht with a Poppystamps 'Marina Sailboats' die.  The sentiment is stamped in navy blue with a stamp from the Happy Little Stampers 'Wish You Were Here' set of stamps. I raised the layered image/sentiment up on foam pads.

  2. Fantastic masculine card Liz. I find sketches a good start when you sit looking at the card blank and think "What now?". That is a great sketch that you followed.
I feel for you back in lockdown. We have been so fortunate not to have had any community transmission for a number of weeks now so apart from our borders being closed and having to sign in to businesses, we are pretty much back to normal. I can remember how hard it was though when we were in lockdown so I'll be thinking of you. Time to do lots of crafting perhaps?

    1. Plenty of time to do crafting. It's been too cold the last couple of days to go outside for a long walk. Thank goodness for a crafting hobby! xx

  19. I pray they get more of the vaccines rolled out and life will be able to returned to a more normal by summer/fall. No lockdowns here, probably should be but there isn't. I stay in though except for groceries. Your card is just amazing Liz! I love how masculine it looks in those colors. Love the embossing and papers, but mostly I love that yacht. That is a cool sketch you followed, lots of layers! Everything just pops with that darker blue. Hugs, Brenda
