Christmas

One last Christmas card to share for 2024.

The embossing folder I used is a Sizzix one and I layered the embossed card on a red mat.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Green Oasis'.  A fairly quick and easy card to make, which was perfect for batch making. I also used up lots of white snippets for the embossed panels, although I still seem to have a mountain of them left!

Allsorts Challenge ~ Use Dies

Sarah has chosen 'Use dies' for the theme of this week's Allsorts Challenge.  As always you can always use the Anything Goes option as we love to see all your creations.  This will be a two week challenge so plenty of time to join in the challenge.

I made the card base with a Spellbinders 'Happy Days' set of dies.  The patterned paper is from an old 'Woodland Folk' paper pack.  I used a Creative Expressions 'Rambling Berries' embossing folder for the white panel. The acorn and large leaves are die cuts from the 'Tonic 'Autumnal Oak' set and the acorn is attached with foam pads to add some dimension. I used a paper punch for the four small leaves.  The sentiment was a die cut, cut in white and coloured with a brown Promarker.

There are three prizes this week of Oakwood dies and coordinating stamps.

Happy Birthday, Granddaughter

Our granddaughter is celebrating her birthday today and this is the card I made for her.

The card base was made with Made To Surprise 'Side Panel Showstopper' dies.   The patterned paper is from The Range.  The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' and 'Darla Butterfly' dies.  The background of the butterfly was embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.

Money Wallets

I had a few money wallets to make for teenage family members, so I got out my Christmas paper snippets and made three wallets.

The patterned paper is from a 12" x 12" pad from The Works.

To keep the wallet closed I used half a velcro dot, a whole dot was too strong and I added a Merry Christmas sentiment. I keep the inside of the flap plain to write the message.

I actually remembered to take of photo of some of the snippets I used.  There were plenty of snippets to choose from!

Allsorts Challenge ~ Lots of White

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Ellie would like to see 'Lots of White'.  If lots of white is not your thing, you can always go with the Anything Goes option.

I decided to make a White of White sympathy card. The middle is die cut with a Simon Says Stamp 'Leaf Branch Oval' die.  I added a punched flower.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine 'Morning Mist' and I added five tiny white pearls.  I die cut the rectangle with a die from the Lisa Horton's 'Stitched Scalloped Layered Rectangle' set, before attaching to the card blank.

Prizes this week are from border and floral stamps from AALL and Create.

Pyrography

Something different today.  Earlier this week a went to a Pyrography workshop.  It's something I've wanted to try for a long time and I was given a voucher for a session this week.

After a short introduction of using the wood burning tool and practising drawing straight lines on a spare piece of wood, we choose an image to transfer to a piece of wood.  This is what I ended up with.  Not perfect, but I was quite pleased how my first attempt turned out.

Allsorts Challenge ~ It's begining to look a lot like Christmas

This is my second post today, please scroll down to see my Crafty Calendar Challenge DT card.

Lynn has chosen 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' for this week's Allsorts Challenge.

For the background I masked off a square and used a Lavinia Stamps 'Dynamic' stencil and an Elements 'Sahara' ink pad. I used some Lavinia stamps I bought recently on a visit to their shop, 'Christmas Greetings', 'Snowy Fir Tree Small' and 'Annie and Edward', all stamped with Versafine 'Nocture'. I put a gold sequin star on top of the tree and used a gold Wink of Stella brush pen to add some sparkle to the tree, the candle and lamp and along the ground.  This card started as One Layer card, but I managed to smudge some gold glitter along the edge, so I die the card using a die from the Lisa Horton's 'Stitched Scalloped Layered Squares' set and raised it up an foam tape before attaching to a new card blank.

There are two prizes of  AALL and Create A6 stamps.

Busy Crafty Weekend!

On Friday I went to a mini Stampin' Up workshop run by my friend, Inkabelle.  This was one of the cards I made.  It's a great design for using up thin snippets of paper.  On this one, I ripped the card to give  snowy effect.

On Saturday our craft group held it's usual monthly craft day.  As it's nearly Christmas, this month it was twelve hours long.... 9am - 9pm!  We all do our own thing and I managed to make ten Christmas cards and two birthday cards, as well as finding lots of time for chatting, laughing and eating!

This is one of the cards I made, using the technique from the card above.  The patterned paper was from The Works and too thick to tear easily, so I just cut it in thin strips.  I used a Memory Box 'Vesha Ornament' die to cut the aperture.   The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with Versafine Claire 'Strawberry'.

While I had my bauble die out I made a this card.  Instead of filling the aperture with strips, I put a snippet of blue, snowy paper behind the aperture.  I used the die again to die cut the bauble from a snippet of silver glitter card and inlaid it into the aperture.

I am sharing this last card in the following challenges:
