Black, White and Red

My crafty mojo seems to have gone AWOL lately.  I think it was the lack of time to craft over Christmas and the New Year, which has resulted in it being difficult to get back into making cards again.  I have a couple of masculine cards needed for later this month, together with a few DT cards, so I went in search of my mojo and managed to make a couple of cards.   This is the first one, a masculine card for a friend.

I'm not sure if this fold has a name, but I saw it demonstrated on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page this week.  I've made similar cards before, but opening the opposite way round. I've always known them as Joy Fold card, so perhaps this has the same name.  The image is a die cut using a Die-Namites 'Birds on a Branch' die.  The patterned paper is from Anna Marie Designs.

The panel inside is left plain for the message.

I used snippets for everything, apart for the card blanks and red card, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Snippets Playground.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. Think we're all suffering from after Christmas madness - and Mojo's are all sunning themselves on a beach somewhere!
But this is really nice Liz - one of my fave colour combos and you're once again Queen of the Fancy Fold!

  2. This is lovely Liz, the colour scheme is fab and I love the fold you used and the beautiful bird die. I know what you mean about mojo and I’ve heard a few people say the same … I don’t think the horrible weather is helping either. I think my mojo went for a walk in the snow and got lost! ! You obviously managed to find wherever your mojo was hiding for this card though xx

  3. I absolutely love the black, white, and red card you created! The 'Birds on a Branch' die cut adds such a charming touch, and the Joy Fold design is so unique. It's inspiring to see how you used snippets for everything—truly a testament to your creativity.

  5. You don't need to worry about mojo if you can create a card like this without it! It's a great fold, love the colours and well done for using up all those snippets. xx

  6. Hi Liz
I would have called it a "joy fold" card base too.
Love the finished look. I have a big soft spot for creations where black and white are the main focal point.
    Have a good weekend.
    Love and hugs

  7. An interesting variation on the joy fold - great design for a masculine card. You're not alone in finding it hard to get into making cards after the long break - that and the cold weather seems to have done something similar to me 🙄.

  17. It really kooks striking in the red and black - I love the combo of the intricate bird design and the stripy paper. I also find that it can be hard to get the mojo going again after a break - the more you craft the easier it becomes.
