My crafty mojo seems to have gone AWOL lately. I think it was the lack of time to craft over Christmas and the New Year, which has resulted in it being difficult to get back into making cards again. I have a couple of masculine cards needed for later this month, together with a few DT cards, so I went in search of my mojo and managed to make a couple of cards. This is the first one, a masculine card for a friend.
I'm not sure if this fold has a name, but I saw it demonstrated on the Nifty Noodles Crafting Facebook page this week. I've made similar cards before, but opening the opposite way round. I've always known them as Joy Fold card, so perhaps this has the same name. The image is a die cut using a Die-Namites 'Birds on a Branch' die. The patterned paper is from Anna Marie Designs.
The panel inside is left plain for the message.
I used snippets for everything, apart for the card blanks and red card, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Snippets Playground.

Think we're all suffering from after Christmas madness - and Mojo's are all sunning themselves on a beach somewhere!
ReplyDeleteBut this is really nice Liz - one of my fave colour combos and you're once again Queen of the Fancy Fold!
This is lovely Liz, the colour scheme is fab and I love the fold you used and the beautiful bird die. I know what you mean about mojo and I’ve heard a few people say the same … I don’t think the horrible weather is helping either. I think my mojo went for a walk in the snow and got lost! ! You obviously managed to find wherever your mojo was hiding for this card though xx
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the black, white, and red card you created! The 'Birds on a Branch' die cut adds such a charming touch, and the Joy Fold design is so unique. It's inspiring to see how you used snippets for everything—truly a testament to your creativity.
ReplyDeleteLiz, you succeeded very well in making this card. I like it a lot, especially the black diecut and the shape.

You don't need to worry about mojo if you can create a card like this without it! It's a great fold, love the colours and well done for using up all those snippets. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Liz
ReplyDeleteI would have called it a "joy fold" card base too.
Love the finished look. I have a big soft spot for creations where black and white are the main focal point.
Have a good weekend.
Love and hugs

An interesting variation on the joy fold - great design for a masculine card. You're not alone in finding it hard to get into making cards after the long break - that and the cold weather seems to have done something similar to me 🙄.
ReplyDeleteA beautifully designed fancy fold card, I think there is nothing wrong with your mojo as this card is fabulous!!

A wonderful fold, papers and diecut Liz
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like you have a lack of mojo Liz, this is awesome, love the fold, papers and die. a Super masculine card. x
ReplyDeleteI have also been finding it hard to get on with it since Christmas, and it would appear that Val is feeling likewise, but the card is just great with the interesting fold and the red and black are perfect for a masculine card..I love the Birds on a branch die, and the sentiment and striped papers look terrific too Liz. x
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of colours and papers - most effective
ReplyDeleteIt does become hard to get started again after a break, doesn't it? Your card is wonderful, and I'm glad you're back! I like the card design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use so many snippets! Love the card! Hope you have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteI would call this a "joy fold" card Liz. It's really great in red, white and black and has made a fab masculine card.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground, and for sharing a photo of your snippets. See you up in the treehouse shortly. x
It really kooks striking in the red and black - I love the combo of the intricate bird design and the stripy paper. I also find that it can be hard to get the mojo going again after a break - the more you craft the easier it becomes.
ReplyDeleteOh I know what you mean Liz, very hard to get back to it after a wee break! But this is a beautiful card and great in the black and red too.
ReplyDeleteI'm finding it hard to get my mojo back Liz after no crafting at all for weeks but I don't think yours has appeared your card is fabulous hugs Sue xxx
ReplyDeleteI was the same Liz after my holiday and then Christmas. This is great and no mojo missing as it's such a striking card.
ReplyDeleteA very interesting fold and the red, black and white colour combo really works with those papers, a great masculine card.
