Allsorts Challenge ~ Close to Nature

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Brenda has chosen the theme of  'Close to Nature' (animals, trees, flowers etc.)  As always there is also the option of Anything Goes.

I bought a preloved AALL & Create #687 - Flock Together (#687) set of stamps recently and used the puffin for my card.  I stamped the image on a white Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' die cut, using Memento 'Tuxedo Black'. I added a little colour to the beak, eye and feet with Promarkers. I stamped the puffin again on a scrap piece of card and fussy cut it to make a mask.  With the mask in place I sponged Adirondack 'Sail Boat Blue' over the circle.  I then used the same ink pad to stencil a wavy pattern over the top, before removing the mask.  I made a matching panel with the same ink and mask.  The sentiment stamp is from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year', stamped with Versafine Claire 'Nocturne’.

There are three prizes of A5 stamp sets from AALL and Create to be won.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. I wasn't sure if it was DP or stencilling but it's so effective to give the look of the Ocean to compliment the Puffin. Many thanks for sharing your lovely card with us at Stamping Sensations and We Love Stamping challenges.

  7. What a charming card! I absolutely love the puffin image from the AALL & Create set—it’s so cute and works perfectly with the sponged background. The way you used the mask to create that beautiful wavy pattern is such a clever technique, and the colors you chose really complement each other.
