A second post today showing the same embossing folder as the last card HERE, but inked on the reverse, showing the different effect you get. I used a brayer again, after the white card was embossed, using a Adirondack Purple Twilight inkpad. As the embossed pattern is so small, I got the best result by embossing the card first and then inking the card with the brayer. The embossing folder I used is SU 'Square Lattice'.
This has to be my favourite rubber stamp of all time. I bought it years ago and it still makes me smile every time I use it. I bought it originally to make a birthday card for my daughter when she was just a teenager - it was very appropriate at the time. :-) The image was coloured in with Stardust pens, giving it a bit of sparkle, and a skin tone Promarker for the face.
I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:
What a fun image Liz! Great sentiment to go with it too. I see why it remains a favorite. Great background too. Lovely card.
ReplyDeleteTotally love the image and sentiment, some people would say that about me lol.
ReplyDeleteThis and you previous post are two great cards and I have that embossing folder and rarely use it and would never have thought to ink it up, what a great idea.

I love the background technique you used on these cards Liz. I hadn't thought of using a brayer to colour embossed card. I like the way it looks so different on each side too.
ReplyDeleteI love the fairy with attitude as well, great sentiment.

Such a fun image Liz - along with the sentiment! LOVE the purple and I totally see how different it is to colour either side of the embossed card - need to try this one ASAP I think!

LOL...this is so fun. Love the coloring, and great idea to use the brayer as you did. I never think to do that, but it's so effective. The starburst colors really sparkle & gleam. TFS & Hugs.

That embossed panel looks great, and I love that it's on the reverse side! Cute and fun image for a wonderful birthday card :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card, Liz! That's an image and sediment that I haven't seen before and I can see why it makes you smile as I sit here grinning! I do, however, have the e/f and I appreciate the tip on embossing first BEFORE inking. I have trouble with inking the e/fs, so I think what you say makes a ton of sense and I can't wait to try it myself! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun card..love the sentiment and image! Have a great weekend!
