Rudolph Days April Challenge

It's the 25th of the month which can only mean one thing - time for the Rudolph Days April Challenge.  The challenge is open every month from 25th until the end of the month. So, you've got just a few days to get your entry in and have the chance to win a lovely prize.

I'm on the DT team this month and this is the card I made.  I thought I'd have a change from red or green and decided to use some of the beautiful papers from a Lili of the Valley 'Frosty Christmas' paper stack.

All the patterned papers are snippets from a Lili of the Valley 'Frosty Christmas' paper pad.  As Lili of the Valley have stopped selling their lovely paper pads, I'm try to make sure I don't waste even the tiniest piece!  I saw a tutorial in a magazine last year to make this fold and it was on my list of techniques to try......BUT.....I discovered on Janice's blog HERE that Spellbinders make a pop-up die set, 'Happy Days', that does all the work for you! How could I resist such a brilliant set of dies?  The tree is a Poppystamp 'Snow Flocked Tree' die cut, with Glamour Dust added to make it sparkle.  The snowflakes are from the Memory Box 'Twilight Snowflakes' set of dies.  The tree and sentiment were die cut from snippets and are attached with foam pads.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the lovely creations this month over on the Rudolph Days Challenge, so get out all your Christmassy stash and join in the fun.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  4. Fabulous card Liz! I've been dithering over a die to cut these cards, I think it;s not SB though. You did a brilliant job, as always of course! And I'm so, so with you about the LOTV papers being really precious. What were they thinking?!

Great to see you in the Playground.

    Hugs

    1. I've been looking at another make of die for this fold too, Di, but the one I was looking at only cuts the slits and a few sore lines I think. The SB one cuts the top and bottom of the card too. The die set comes with all the dies to cut the papers and a few other shapes as well, so was good value. xx

    2. *score lines not sore lines! :-D

    3. Di again! I know what you mean - this set really does so much more than the other. Think we were looking at the same one. It does seem wonderful value - have spotted it at just under £15. Question though - I only have a Cuttlebug with 6" wide plates. I know I can reverse the card and die lengthways as I do for the stepper card die you forced me to buy (snigger). Websites seem to say the package is six and three quarters wide - but is that the package or the die? One website did say it's OK for the Cuttlebug in a list but didn't elaborate so am concerned it was just a standard sentence covering the list of die cutting machines which might not be correct if that makes sense. Di xx

    4. Just measured the biggest die that cuts the main base card. The die measures exactly 5 3/4" x 7" with the actual die cut being a shade smaller. Cuts perfectly on my Big shot without reversing the die, which I guess has cutting plates the same size as the Cuttlebug. It cuts three of the sides, top, left and bottom, with a score line on the right hand side. I guess this is in case you want to extend the length of the card.
      Hope this helps. xx
