It's Rudolph Days Challenge time again, which runs from the 25th until the last day of each month, leading up to Christmas. You have seven days this month to make a Christmas themed project/card and join in the challenge.
I'm not too happy with the photo, the gold mirror card looks more bronze than gold, but metallic card seems to always change colour in a photo! The die I used is Poppystamps 'Vesha Ornament', a gift from the lovely Scrappymo. My plan was to cut the shape in gold and red and inlay the red stripe and spots. This would have worked for the stripes, but the spots were too tiny and also different sizes. So, it was onto plan B, which was to draw around the die on red card, cut it out and lay the gold die cut on top. I used a tiny piece of red and gold thread which I attached to the bauble and the gold punched bow. The patterned paper is from a paper pad which came free with a magazine some time ago and the design seemed perfect to go with the bauble die cut. The sentiment is computer generated and die cut with Lawn Fawn 'Everyday Sentiment Banner' dies. I've attached the bauble, bow and sentiment with foam pads to raise them up.

A beautiful die Liz and it compliments the gorgeous backing paper it on as well.

This does look gold when I clicked on it. I love the design and the paper you used too. Great Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteStunning card! So true how hard it is to photo anything shiny! It still looks so pretty on my end!
ReplyDeleteOh such a pretty bauble in gold! Yes the shiny cardstock is so hard to photograph - I find silver even worse. I can definitely tell it's gold! And gorgeous! Beautiful card for Rudolph Day! I've been making so many Christmas cards this month that I almost forgot about Rudolph Day - I must get cracking!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Liz, the die cut bauble goes perfectly with the background paper

Your main image and the backing paper are perfect partners. Well done on overcoming the difficulty with the die. I think your photo is fine. Mirri-card is almost impossible to get a good photo of. Kate x
ReplyDeleteI agree with the gold mirror challenges in photos, but this looks great on my monitor. Love the beautiful ornament, and it looks super against the quadrant design with the ornament design in the paper. This is gorgeous! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love it!

Gorgeous card Liz, I love the bauble die, not seen that one before!

This is stunning. I am delighted that you were able to use the Vesha die!
ReplyDeleteI read recently that if you take the photo outside, you do not get any glare. I guess it is because the light is not coming from one source...but rather it is diffused by nature, so to speak.
I like the DP you chose.Suits the ornament topper so well. Great design!
Thanks for taking part in the July Rudolph Days Challenge.
Thanks, Maureen. I'll have to try taking a picture outside next time I use gold or silver card. Last time I took a picture of a card outside, a long time ago, the card blew away! LOL!
DeleteThis is so elegant and beautiful!! The ornament looks amazing!! Wow!! I love the background and design!! What a stunning card!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

This is very pretty Liz and the paper goes excellently with the beautiful gold and red bauble and I love how you've suspended it from the little gold die cut bow. I'm only supposed to be commenting on the even number cards with my DT hat on but good luck with the challenge. x
