Skateboarding

The Less is More Challenge this week is the dreaded One Layer with the theme of 'Vehicle'.  The dictionary definition of a vehicle is 'a thing used for transporting people or goods', so I hope my skateboard counts.
The stamp is a Woodware Francoise Read, 'Skateboard Dude' stamp and the sentiment is a stamp by Funstamps.  Both these stamps are wood mounted and as I now a have a Tim Holtz Stamping Platform I wish I had the courage to remove the stamps from the wood, but I know if I mess it up I can't replace the stamps.  The image is stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine 'Onyx Black'.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. What a happy image this is and I'm sure it qualifies as a vehicle. I know what you mean about being wary of removing favourite old stamps from wood blocks.

  2. This is fab, such a cut image.

Thanks for your visit to my blog earlier - the balloons we saw were all on the Downend side of us but we didn't see them until around 8pm, we almost missed them as we thought they'd gone in another direction too - they must have been later yesterday.

    Happy Monday

  5. Great card Liz.....and the oldies are sometimes the best (stamps I mean of course). Like you I have many wooden backed stamps still intact and taking up a lot of storage room but I have not got the heart nor the desire if I am truthful to remove the stamps.....

  6. This is a lovely image Liz and a skateboard has wheels so I'm sure it qualifies, and I love your bright colours which go beautifully. I don't have a lot of storage space as I craft downstairs on the dining table which we never use for that purpose..lol, so if I ever get any more wooden stamps I may have to try removing them from the wood. Apparently it is quite easy to do but I have to admit they do look nicer wood mounted. I have the Misti which I use all the time and one of the magnets has shattered so will have to buy some more. I don't know if the magnets that come with the stamping platform are less brittle but have only had mine about 8 or 9 months so wasn't expecting to have to replace any of them yet. x

  8. This most certainly does count as wheels and a way of getting from A to B. Very innovative idea of yours. I have several wooden stamps. Some I have removed and others like you have hesitated in case I mess up. I bought some SU stamps on wheels yrs ago and removed them ok though peeps said it wouldn't work. Hugs Mrs A.

  11. A skateboard definitely counts. This is a cute card. I have removed the stamps from the wood mount via a YouTube video. It is done in the microwave. Very little time and it peeled right off. I was really happy. Try and old stamp you don't really care about or go purchase a cheap clearance stamp and try it.

I am a little skittish of those one layer cards. Mine mainly end up in the recycle bin. [Bunny]

  21. Bright, fun, cas - great. I do peel the stamps off the wooden blocks, and no disasters yet. I'm strangely sentimental about the wooden mounts and I tie them back together with the stamp using cling film!
