I'm not sure why, probably because of the glorious weather we're having in the UK and it's great to be outside in the sunshine, but I seem to be playing catch-up with challenges and blog visiting lately. The Twofer Challenge finishes on the 24th July, so I got my skates on two make two cards for different occasions, using the same die. As there is nothing more English than a cup of tea, I went with a teapot. The only way to make a good cup of tea!
I am joining in the Twofer Challenge with this pair of cards.
Last year I was invited to a couple of afternoon tea parties, so I thought I'd make a thank you card in case I get invited to another one. Afternoon tea always comes with delicious cakes, so I used a Cuttlebug cupcakes embossing folder to make the panel. The teapot and cup are dies from a Trimcraft set, 'Tea Party' and I inlaid all the detail.

For my second card, I used the teapot die cut, but trimmed off the handle, spout and part of the lid to turn it into vase. The flowers were made with a punch and I drew the stems with a fineliner pen. The circles are Spellbinder dies. The black and white floral paper is from an old DCWV paper pad.

Have a great week... Gill xx

This is so clever, I love both cards. Making a vase of flowers, which are so cute, is so inspired.
ReplyDeleteTwo great csrds for the Twofer Challenge Liz, and I am like you running out of time to get an entry in as I am busy with other cards that have to be made and the hot weather has slowed me down somewhat, and I had a week away which has given me less time too, although the holiday was great and enjoyed it very much. I love your teapot and teacup and pretty cakes on the embossing which work beautifully, and then the adapted teapot makes a wonderful vase and the black and red is so elegant. x
ReplyDeleteSmart desgins!!!

You are incredibly clever to turn that teapot into a vase! I love both cards, well done!!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz both these cards are gorgeous, well done my friend xx
ReplyDeleteWhat excellent British designs, Liz! You did a lot of amazing inlay work on your pretty teapot/vase and then a lot of fiddly work with that flower punch to make the wee flowers! You have a lot of patience and the result is two beautiful and different cards! Way to stretch your die!! Thank you for coming in from all that glorious sunshine long enough to make a card for Twofer Card Challenge #7! I hope the good weather lasts, but that you get a few showers at night to give everything a drink! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous, so beautifully designed! Thank you so much for sharing at Allsorts challenge!
ReplyDeleteHow clever to turn this darling teapot into a pretty vase! I was reading the post to see just what you trimmed off! Both cards are lovely, and good for you at your pretty entries into the July 2fer. I don't have any dies or stamps that would work, nor the imagination to find something in my stash(Which SURELY I must have something!) that would work. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards Liz and your not alone making the most of this glorious weather, many thanks for joining in with our 'Flowers all Over' theme at Allsorts challenge.
