Anyone who lives in the UK will have heard of Captain Tom Moore, who celebrates his 100th birthday at the end of this month. He set out earlier this month to walk 100 lengths of his back garden before his birthday to raise money for our National Health Service heroes. He has won the hearts of the nation and has raised over £26 million in donations so far. What an inspirational gentleman! Along with many others, I'll be sending him a card for his birthday and here is the card I made for him.
The card base and scalloped circles are from a Sizzix 'Triple Circle Flip-its' die set. The silver mirror card numbers are from cut with die from The Works and the sentiment is computer generated. The mirror card stars are punched with an Xcut punch.
The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft 'Blue Skies' paper pad.
I used Memory Box 'Parker Upper Alphabet' dies for the letters.
I am joining in the following challenges:

What a great card for Capt. Tom and I love the triple flip look with the number on one side and the name on the other, and works well as he has a three letter name and a three number age. I love the stripes too and the silver numbers and stars coordinate perfectly. x

Just perfect Liz! Isn't Captain Tom an inspiration - here's hoping he gets a Knighthood. I just love how you added TOM behind the 100, yet another one of your great ideas - and so kind and thoughtful as well. Psst, Clearly Besotted have some free digi down loads and one is a couple of sunflower blooms to colour yourself. I thought of you immediately - the others are also good!

ReplyDeleteSuch a creative design with the 100 and TOM rotating cirles, Liz. We have hear of Major Tom here in Canada as well. I'm sure he is famous around the world for his amazing dedication and strong will to complete his walk around his yard. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I could see making it for anyone with 3 letters in their name or title (i.e. DAD, MUM, etc) My father will be 100 this year, so I am inspired to make something similar.
