The current Butterfly Challenge is 'K for Kite Fold'. The six elements are 'Kite Fold /Kilimanjaro (pale sky blue)/Kobi (light pink)/Kombu Green (dark sage)/Knots + a Butterfly. I decided to include all six elements on my card. Mrs A has put instructions for making a kite fold HERE.
The background is embossed with Embossalicious 'Clouds' embossing folder. I used a Sizzix embossing folder on the front of the kite, added a tail with baker's twine, knotted in three places and added some little punched, pink butterflies. I stamped three butterflies from the Stampin' Up 'Butterfly Gala' set of stamps, coloured them with Promarkers and fussy cut them.
I wanted the kite to stay tightly closed when displayed, so I added two tiny spider magnets to the inside of the folded kite. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' set of stamps, stamped with Versafine 'Nocturne'.

Lovely Kite card Liz. I like that you used a cloud embossing folder behind the kite so that it looks like it is flying high in the sky. I just started working on mine earlier on today but haven't finished it yet (keep getting sidetracked).
ReplyDeleteSuper beautiful card, lovely colours as well. Great background, love this. xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow--what a wonderful card, Liz! The cloud ef made the perfect background for that beautiful pink kite!

Great card for this challenge and well done for including all the elements. Having the cloud embossing for the sky is just right and I like the contrast of the detailed embossing on the kite itself.
ReplyDeleteAnother fun and amazing style of card. I love it.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Liz - I love the kite fold and the tiny magnet is a perfect way to keep the kit closed.

A really interesting shape Liz and love the use of magnets to keep the kite shut with that super sentiment hidden within, and the baker's twine and sweet little butterflies on the tail, and some more really pretty little butterflies flying over that blue cloud embossed sky. A wonderful card. x
