Let Go Fly A Kite.......

The current Butterfly Challenge is 'K for Kite Fold'.  The six elements are 'Kite Fold /Kilimanjaro (pale sky blue)/Kobi (light pink)/Kombu Green (dark sage)/Knots + a Butterfly.  I decided to include all six elements on my card.  Mrs A has put instructions for making a kite fold HERE.

The background is embossed with Embossalicious 'Clouds' embossing folder.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder on the front of the kite, added a tail with baker's twine, knotted in three places and added some little punched, pink butterflies.  I stamped three butterflies from the Stampin' Up 'Butterfly Gala' set of stamps, coloured them with Promarkers and fussy cut them.

I wanted the kite to stay tightly closed when displayed, so I added two tiny spider magnets to the inside of the folded kite.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up 'Painted Glass' set of stamps, stamped with Versafine 'Nocturne'.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. Lovely Kite card Liz. I like that you used a cloud embossing folder behind the kite so that it looks like it is flying high in the sky. I just started working on mine earlier on today but haven't finished it yet (keep getting sidetracked).

  6. Great card for this challenge and well done for including all the elements. Having the cloud embossing for the sky is just right and I like the contrast of the detailed embossing on the kite itself.
