Two Christmas Cards

I made these cards for the Rudolph Days August Challenge challenge, but Maureen is unwell so the next challenge will be in September.  Wishing you a speedy recovery, Maureen.  I thought I'd share the cards anyway today, they both use the same technique.

I cut a mat with patterned paper slightly smaller than the card blank.  I used a Poppystamps 'Vesha Ornament' die in a piece of white card to create an aperture.  The top of the bauble is silver mirror card and I used a fineliner pen to draw the string.  The white card was embossed with a Crafter's Companion 'Snowflakes' embossing folder. The embossed layer was raised up to add some dimension.  I didn't have any card the correct shade for the sentiment mat to match the patterned paper, so I coloured a snippet of white card with a blue Promarker.

I used a Poppystamps 'Snow Flocked Tree' die on this card to make the aperture.  As the Crafter's Companion text embossing folder has lots of Christmas greeting, I didn't add another.  Three red pearls finished off my card.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  11. These are so fun Liz, I love the pattern papers behind the Christmas cut out windows! The embossing finishes off these two cards perfectly. Gives them that little something, something. Who needs matching cardstock when you have your pro-markers?! Hugs, Brenda
