Twofer

Many of my followers will know that I am a football (soccer) supporter and often make football themed cards in blue and white. Yesterday we watched our team play the last game of the season.  What a game!  We needed a miracle to get automatic promotion and a miracle is exactly what happened when we scored 7-0, just what was needed.  Apologies to those reading this who have no interest in football, but we are still on Cloud Nine!

The Allsorts Challenge this week is 'Favourite stamps and/or dies'.  How do you choose your favourite, it's like being asked to choose you favourite child! 🤣

I decided to choose two dies.  The first is a Presscut 'Centre Stepper Card' die.  I used to make this style with a craft knife and it was a real game changer to find a die which does the work for you.  The second die is a Memory Box 'Chloe Stem' which I've had for years but it's still one of my favourite floral dies.  The patterned paper is from a paper pad from The Range and I finished off my card with a sentiment and two white pearls.  I've just realised that I've covered up one of the pearls with my watermark...Oops!

I am joining in the following challenges:

A second card to share today.  This time a masculine card made for a friend's birthday.  I rarely use any sort of stitching on a masculine card, but thought this cross-stitch design of a glass of beer would be perfect to make into a card.
The background is embossed with a Crafter's Companion 'On Your Birthday' embossing folder.  The tag is a MFT 'Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics' set of dies and a used crochet cotton for the stitching.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

  5. I love that paper you used on the first card and the simple die cut means it still shines through - I'm going to try that as I have so many papers I hate to cover up. Thanks for the inspiration. Great male card too with the x-s. Thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts.

  9. I also agree it would be incredibly hard to pick a favourite stamp or die! To begin with I've so many of them I wouldn't know how to thin the choice out!! Your first card is super elegant, and I can imagine it is miles better to have a die for that card shape than having to cut it out, then the second card is perfect for those masculine makes. Fabulous both of them! Sarah

  26. Congrats to your football team, I can imagine the hooping and hollering that was going on at your house. lol Your first card is so pretty Liz, I love the papers you used and I really love that flower die as well. Yes, cutting these types of cards was always done by hand and either a paper trimmer or blade, but having the die that does the work for you is so nice! I love your second card as well. I always love seeing your "stitched" designs on your cards. Actually, I bought a die to use for stitching but now I can't find my floss. lol Just saw my container not that long ago, so I know it is here! The glass of beer is so fun and perfect for a masculine card. Hugs, Brenda
