New School and Pinwheel

My 11 year old great niece starts senior school next week and this is the card I made for her to wish her good luck.

She loves looking after her chickens, so this pre-coloured image from Beccy's Place was just perfect. It's from the set 'Spring Chickens'.  I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder for the red panels and added some punched hearts and tiny red pearls.

I am joining in the following challenges with this card:

My second card is a Pinwheel card.
The patterned paper is from an old paper pad.

The sentiment is a SU stamp and I added a die cut flower.

The card folds flat for posting.

  1. How cute and fun card for your great niece!! I'm sure she will love it! The head of the chicken seems paper-pieced and the red embossed panels are so sweet with the white hearts! Beautiful design also for the pin-wheel card, your folding are always perfect and classy!

  5. What a lovely way to wish your great niece a good start to senior school, I'm sure she'll love it! The fold you used is fabulous Liz, and I really like the red and white colour scheme. Swiss Dots is one of my favourite folders, it always gives a great texture.
Your pinwheel card is fabulous too. I haven't tried this fold yet, but it's on my to do list!
    Cheers,
