Butterflies and Brads

The Butterfly Challenge #22  is 'Butterflies + B is for Brads'.   This was a good excuse to use up some more of my millions of brads.  I do like brads and use them quite often, but I seem to have accumulated quite a lot over the years!
As I have worked nearly every school day so far this month as a supply teacher covering sick leave, (so much for retirement!  LOL!), I thought I deserved a little treat and bought myself a set of Sizzix 'Basic Step-ups' dies.  The card folded up measures about 11cm x 14cm and makes quite a cute little card.  The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft paper stack.  I punched out the large butterfly twice using a Stampin' Up punch, embossing the top one before layering them.  The little butterflies were punched out with a Fiskars punch and attached with foam pads.  The punched flowers have little pink brads in the centre and I've added some white star brads to match the backing paper.  So.... that's five more brads used up out of my stash!

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:

  4. A beautiful side stepper card. Colour for me is just perfect being a pink girly. I like that you have matched your brads to the paper design. Thank you for fluttering by my butterfly challenge #22. Hugs Mrs A.

  5. Beautiful side-step card! My favourite colour! I have tons of brads too - have no idea why I bought so many of them years ago as I hardly ever use them. I have tons of eyelets too! I was glad this challenge reminded me about my brad collection because I'm going to use them more often now that I've uncovered them again.

    1. I've got tons of eyelets too! Although I quite often use brads, I very rarely use eyelets. Perhaps someone will have a card challenge using eyelets, so we will have a reason to dust them off and use a few! LOL!

  12. I think we all should send you our neglected stash of brads because we never use them and you make such delightful things with them!!! :)
I just LOVE your charming card. The colors are so light and pretty and the side-step design is always a fun one see. I didn't know that Sizzix made step-up dies. That was a brilliant gift to give yourself!!! But you might have to decline a few jobs to be able to use it more!!! Ha.
Thanks for sharing your lovely butterfly card!!!

  13. I had to laugh when you said 5 more brads used up. I wouldn't dare count or number mine... I don't want to know! Love your pink happy card with its fun side step. I had no idea there were dies for that style of card now but I heartily approve!
