The theme of the Twofer Challenge this month is 'Stars'. Two cards with different design, for two different occasions (except this month only, when both cards can be for Christmas), using the same die, stamp or stencil. I was delighted to be invited to be a Guest Designer this month and I thought I'd join in the challenge with a second pair of cards. Looking through my dies, stamps and stencils, I realised that I was a bit short on stars, so I reread the rules and punches can be used instead of dies. So I set to work with a couple of star punches.
I used two star punches on both cards, the large one was a Woodware punch and smaller one an Xcut punch.
I am joining in the Twofer Challenge with this pair of cards.
My brother is celebrating a big birthday at the end of this month and this is the card I made for him. The card shape was made with a Spellbinders 'Pop-Ups - Happy Days' die. The papers are from Dovecraft 'Blue Skies' paper pad. The computer generated sentiment was punched with a Stampin' Up punch and the blue mat hand cut. I added some of the smaller stars to the front of the card.
I layered small white stars onto the large navy stars.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
My second card uses the same two star punches. The papers are from an old Trimcraft Christmas paper pad. I punched the stars from gold glitter card to add a little sparkle.
This photo shows the card when opened.....

Super cards Liz! Great fancy folds!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards Liz, you've done a great job with the "stars" requirement! Both folds are fantastic, it's always nice to see something a bit different. I'm sure your brother is going to love the stair card for his 60th birthday, the colours and patterns are fabulous. I really like the fold you used for the Christmas card. When I first looked I didn't realise the front was folded back on itself, I thought it was a panel down the front of the card. Love it!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy
Lovely starry cards Liz. I like the fold on the Christmas card. I thought the same as Beccy when I first looked at it.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards. Your folds are always great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link you sent. I watch the video and my eyes glazed over. I really thought I'd enjoy making it. Oh well. I might give it a try one day. [Bunny]

ReplyDeleteTwo more beautiful Twofer cards Liz and love the blue card with the circle theme for your brother which I'm sure he will love, and then the red themed with diagonal stripes and a pretty interlocking circle design, and both with the two different sized punched stars and wonderful shaped cards with the stepper and fold back card.
