Well, England goes into a four week lockdown on Thursday, so I guess there will be more time for crafting. Every cloud has a silver lining!
I've got two cards to share today. My first card is a birthday card I made for a friend who loves anything swan related. Blue and white cards always seem to looks so fresh and are one of my favourite colour combinations.
I used a Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' die and backed 'birthday' with plain blue card. The swan is a Memory Box 'Gentle Swan' die cut and I added a little colour for the eye and beak with fine Sharpie pens. For the embossing I used a Creative Expression 'Ocean Waves' embossing folder. Three white pearls finished off my card.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
My second card is a Christmas card so I can join in with Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards Challenge which begins today (although it's already tomorrow in Australia!) Day 1 is the letter 'A' so my card includes 'Adorable Snowmen'. A bit of a loose link, but they ARE adorable!
The image is one of Beccy's precoloured digi stamps from the 'Snowman' set. The sentiment is computer generated. I die cut the image with a Memory Box 'Stitched Square Layers' die and layered it on a green mat. I embossed the background with a music embossing folder and added a strip of green ribbon across the bottom. I added a strip of card under the ribbon so the embossing doesn't show through the ribbon. The embossed card was layered on a green mat and I added a die cut snowflake to the corner of the image.
I am joining in the following challenges with this card:
Two gorgeous cards,love them.xxx
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards - brilliant choice of embossing folder to go with the swan and you are right those snowmen are 'A for adorable'
ReplyDeleteHow cute and I love them Liz and that music embossing looks great in the background and the added green mat, ribbon and white snowflake embellishes it beautifully. x
ReplyDeleteSorry I forgot about the swan card entirely, a senior moment I think..lol, and it is very pretty and am sure your friend will absolutely adore it. I love the CE Ocean Waves background too and the MB sentiment die works is so versatile and works beautifully here. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Liz. I am sure your friend will love her swan. It's so striking in the blue. Stay safe and enjoy your crafty time.
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards Liz love your snowmen
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely Liz, that birthday die is so useful
ReplyDeleteLovely card Liz - and I think they are adorable. I used an angel image for mine but I've seen so many other A words that others have used when I've looked at their cards. I hope I can get the chance to come and see what else you create this month (if the entries don't get too high too quickly!)
ReplyDeleteYour snowman card is gorgeous Liz! Great idea to emboss the background with a music sheet pattern, it works perfectly with the image. I love the limited colour palette you used, it makes a very elegant end result. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy
