Allsorts Challenge ~ Use Dies

Sarah has chosen 'Use dies' for the theme of this week's Allsorts Challenge.  As always you can always use the Anything Goes option as we love to see all your creations.  This will be a two week challenge so plenty of time to join in the challenge.

I made the card base with a Spellbinders 'Happy Days' set of dies.  The patterned paper is from an old 'Woodland Folk' paper pack.  I used a Creative Expressions 'Rambling Berries' embossing folder for the white panel. The acorn and large leaves are die cuts from the 'Tonic 'Autumnal Oak' set and the acorn is attached with foam pads to add some dimension. I used a paper punch for the four small leaves.  The sentiment was a die cut, cut in white and coloured with a brown Promarker.

There are three prizes this week of Oakwood dies and coordinating stamps.

Happy Birthday, Granddaughter

Our granddaughter is celebrating her birthday today and this is the card I made for her.

The card base was made with Made To Surprise 'Side Panel Showstopper' dies.   The patterned paper is from The Range.  The butterfly was made with Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' and 'Darla Butterfly' dies.  The background of the butterfly was embossed with a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.

Money Wallets

I had a few money wallets to make for teenage family members, so I got out my Christmas paper snippets and made three wallets.

The patterned paper is from a 12" x 12" pad from The Works.

To keep the wallet closed I used half a velcro dot, a whole dot was too strong and I added a Merry Christmas sentiment. I keep the inside of the flap plain to write the message.

I actually remembered to take of photo of some of the snippets I used.  There were plenty of snippets to choose from!

Allsorts Challenge ~ Lots of White

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Ellie would like to see 'Lots of White'.  If lots of white is not your thing, you can always go with the Anything Goes option.

I decided to make a White of White sympathy card. The middle is die cut with a Simon Says Stamp 'Leaf Branch Oval' die.  I added a punched flower.  The sentiment is stamped in Versafine 'Morning Mist' and I added five tiny white pearls.  I die cut the rectangle with a die from the Lisa Horton's 'Stitched Scalloped Layered Rectangle' set, before attaching to the card blank.

Prizes this week are from border and floral stamps from AALL and Create.

Pyrography

Something different today.  Earlier this week a went to a Pyrography workshop.  It's something I've wanted to try for a long time and I was given a voucher for a session this week.

After a short introduction of using the wood burning tool and practising drawing straight lines on a spare piece of wood, we choose an image to transfer to a piece of wood.  This is what I ended up with.  Not perfect, but I was quite pleased how my first attempt turned out.

Allsorts Challenge ~ It's begining to look a lot like Christmas

This is my second post today, please scroll down to see my Crafty Calendar Challenge DT card.

Lynn has chosen 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' for this week's Allsorts Challenge.

For the background I masked off a square and used a Lavinia Stamps 'Dynamic' stencil and an Elements 'Sahara' ink pad. I used some Lavinia stamps I bought recently on a visit to their shop, 'Christmas Greetings', 'Snowy Fir Tree Small' and 'Annie and Edward', all stamped with Versafine 'Nocture'. I put a gold sequin star on top of the tree and used a gold Wink of Stella brush pen to add some sparkle to the tree, the candle and lamp and along the ground.  This card started as One Layer card, but I managed to smudge some gold glitter along the edge, so I die the card using a die from the Lisa Horton's 'Stitched Scalloped Layered Squares' set and raised it up an foam tape before attaching to a new card blank.

There are two prizes of  AALL and Create A6 stamps.

Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ Christmas

Our sponsor kindly gave us images to work with and I chose to use the pre-coloured version of Snowman Friends.  The patterned paper is from The Works.  I finished off my card with three Card Candi.

The Crafty Calendar Challenge ends on the 28th December.  Please hop over to the challenge blog to see all the beautiful creations the DT have made.

Busy Crafty Weekend!

On Friday I went to a mini Stampin' Up workshop run by my friend, Inkabelle.  This was one of the cards I made.  It's a great design for using up thin snippets of paper.  On this one, I ripped the card to give  snowy effect.

On Saturday our craft group held it's usual monthly craft day.  As it's nearly Christmas, this month it was twelve hours long.... 9am - 9pm!  We all do our own thing and I managed to make ten Christmas cards and two birthday cards, as well as finding lots of time for chatting, laughing and eating!

This is one of the cards I made, using the technique from the card above.  The patterned paper was from The Works and too thick to tear easily, so I just cut it in thin strips.  I used a Memory Box 'Vesha Ornament' die to cut the aperture.   The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with Versafine Claire 'Strawberry'.

While I had my bauble die out I made a this card.  Instead of filling the aperture with strips, I put a snippet of blue, snowy paper behind the aperture.  I used the die again to die cut the bauble from a snippet of silver glitter card and inlaid it into the aperture.

I am sharing this last card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge ~ Winter Flowers/Fauna

Brenda has chosen the theme of Winter Flowers/Fauna for this week's Allsorts Challenge.  There is always the option of Anything Goes.

I had seen this Crafter's Companion 'Triple Stepper Card Die' used on a card some time ago, but couldn't justify spending the full cost to add one to my collection.  When I called in one of Crafter's Companion stores recently it was for sale at under half price, so it fell into my basket!  The patterned paper is from The Works.  I made the poinsettias with dies from Spellbinders 'Layered Poinsettia Etched' set and added tiny yellow pearls in the middle of each one.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Greatest Part of Christmas' set, stamped with Versafine 'Satin Red'.

Chill of Winter

The last Rudolph Days Challenge of 2024 begins today and runs until the end of the month.

I've used a pre-coloured digi stamp from Beccy's Place.  I think this set of digi stamps have sadly been discontinued.   The sentiment is from the same set.  The image and mat were die cut with dies from the Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle Layers' dies.  The background was embossed with a Crafter's Companion 'Snowflakes' embossing folder.  I added a strip of ribbon across the bottom.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Ribbon or Twine

It's my turn to introduce the Allsorts Challenge this week and I've chosen the theme of 'Ribbon/Twine'.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who has enough ribbon to last several lifetimes!

I die cut a Memory Box 'Delicate Orchid' in green card and  the flowers in pink and purple, matching the colours in the ribbon.  The patterned paper is from an old Docrafts paper pad.  The sentiment is a stamp from the the Stampin' Up 'Humming Along' set, stamped with Versafine Clair 'Rain Forest'.

The prize this week is a Sizzix die set from Craft Stash.
Our November prizes will be announced on Friday 29th and there just might be a few surprise Christmas gifts for our lovely entrants so pop a note in your diary.

Reindeer Scene

Another simple Christmas card today.

The background was embossed with a Couture Creations 'Reindeer Games'  embossing folder using white pearlised card. I stamped a sentiment with a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Snow is Glistening' set, using Versafine Clair 'Rain Forest'.  I finished off with a tiny red circle for Rudolph's nose.

Penguin Friends

Another Christmas card, this time using one of the pre-coloured digi stamps I found in my box of unused images.

The pre-coloured image is from the 'Simply for Christmas' set by Digi Stamp Boutique.   As the image was pre-coloured, I used the colours in the rest of the card for the mats.  The circles were die cut with Memory Box 'Stitched Circle Layers' dies.  The background was embossed with a Crafter's Companion 'Snowflakes' embossing folder.

Christmas Ornaments

Another CAS Christmas card, I've made five of these.  Quick to make and I've now got a few more to add to the pile.

The ornaments/baubles die is an unbranded one I bought a few years ago on eBay.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up set 'Snow is Glistening', stamped with Versafine Claire 'Nocture'.

Noel

This is the first card I've made for a couple of weeks, apart from DT cards.  As well as having a short break away this week, I'm getting over a bad reaction to a recent Covid jab which has lasted for a few weeks.  Friday night I slept for 12 hours as well as being asleep for most of Friday afternoon!  I'm well behind with my cards for Beccy's month of Holiday cards, so I'm starting in the middle of the alphabet with 'N' and in an attempt to catch up with my Christmas cards for this year, I made a dozen of these CAS cards today.  The base card and the rectangle are the same shade of cream, although they look different in the photo.

The die is a  Lil' Inker Designs 'Noel Word Die'.  I added two tiny googly eyes and a red circle nose which was the waste from a Memory Box 'Large Circle Burst' die cut.  I used Memory Box 'Stitched Rectangle Layers' die for matting and layering.  As the red card was from my snippets drawer, I'll be sharing my card over in The Snippets Playground.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Food and/or Drink

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Gail has chosen the theme of 'Food and/or Drink'.  I've made a Tri Panel Z Fold card for my DT card.

A friend gave me a part used paper pad a while ago which she no longer wanted, so I used two sheets on this card.  The background paper had pictures of cocktail on, so I kept this theme for my card.  The image is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Sip, Sip Hooray' set, stamped with Versafine 'Morning Mist' and coloured with 'Ivory' and 'Pumpkin' Promarkers.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set.   I added three orange sequins to finish off my card.

The Allsorts prizes this week are two Card-io stamp sets.

Eclipse Sunflower Card

Just wondering how often other bloggers check their Spam Comments folder.  I check mine most days and there is often several genuine comments sitting there.  Blogger randomly seems to mark some comments from followers as spam.

It was my birthday on Monday and we've been away to Hay-on-Wye for a few days.  No time for cardmaking this week, so I'm sharing a card a made for a special friend who celebrated her birthday a couple weeks ago.

The patterned paper is from The Range. I die cut the Happy Birthday from the middle of the patterned paper and again three times from yellow card. The die was a pre-loved one I bought, which might be a Lawn Fawn die.  I layered the patterned paper over a yellow mat, before layering all the die cut sentiments together and replacing them in the space on the card.
