Our Golden Wedding Anniversary

Here's the card I made for my hubby for our Golden Wedding Anniversary yesterday.  My hubby came up trumps giving me the latest Lavinia stamps bundle.  I think my daughter may have had a hand in his choice of gift. 😉

I made a Tower Card and kept the decorations fairly simple as it was a masculine card. The heart was die cut with dies from the Sue Wilson 'Laced Heart' set of dies. I bought the set in a sale ages ago but haven't used them until now, so I'll be sharing my card over in the NBUS Challenge. The side panels, were embossed with an X-cut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder.

All the pale gold, pearlised card was snippets so I'll be sharing my card over in The Playground.  I've accumulated quite a few snippets of this lovely gold card as there have been quite a few Golden Wedding Anniversaries to make cards for this year.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Something Fishy

My hubby and I are celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary today.  50 years.... were does the time go!

A new Allsorts Challenge begins today and Gail has chosen the theme 'Something Fishy..... Ocean, Fish, Gulls etc'.  I was attempting to blitz my craft room and I came across this image I stamped a while ago on an inky background.  I thought it was time I made it into a card and this theme seemed the perfect time to use it.

The stamp is Lavinia 'Sebastian the Seahorse', stamped with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne'.  The background was made with Distress Inks, sprayed with a little water.  The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up 'Best Year' set and I added three turquoise sequins to finish off my card.

There are lovely prizes from Lavinia stamps to be won.

Golden Wedding

I haven't posted anything for the last few weeks, except for scheduled posts, as we've been on holiday.  We spent a few days in Hamburg, before catching the sleeper train down to Austria.  I'll share some photos in a later post.

Friends of ours will be celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, the same day as my hubby and me. (We have been married 2 hours longer than them.  ðŸ˜‰)  This is the card I made for our friends.  I know they won't look at my blog, so I'm safe to post it on here.

The card fold was made with Made To Surprise 'Side Panel Showstopper' dies, which I used for the first time.   All the gold pearlised card was snippets, so I'll be sharing my card over in the Playground. I embossed one panel with a Couture Creations 'Tied Together' embossing folder and added some tiny white pearls.  The heart is a Memory Box 'Heart of Hearts' die and the sentiment is computer generated.  Three more tiny white pearls on the top left finished off my card.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Autumn Colours

Brenda has chosen the theme of 'Autumn Colours' for this week's Allsorts Challenge.  I decided to make a masculine card for a friend who recently celebrated his birthday.

I used a Studio Light triptych die, which I bought after seeing it on Di's blog HERE.  The owl and text were digi stamps from Beccy's Place 'What a Hoot', which is sadly discontinued.  I coloured the image with Promarkers. There is a pre-coloured version of the digi stamp, but I coloured it myself so a could use shades of brown to match the patterned paper.  The patterned paper was from The Range.

Prizes for weeks 787 and 789 are beautiful Lavinia stamps.

Heart's Quest Celebration of Love Challenge

I was delighted to be invited to be a Guest Designer for Heart's Quest of Celebrations of Love Challenge #9 which begins today. I've made a Flying Seagull Card for friends celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss.

I've made several Golden Wedding Anniversary cards this year already and as my hubby and I will be celebrating ours on 14th September I need to get on with making one for him!  I used a Memory Box 'Heart of Hearts' die on the panel in the centre.  The other panels were embossed with an Xcut 'Small Polka Hearts' embossing folder. I used a few of the golden 'waste' hearts to embellish the white panels.  The gold card I used is pearlised and came from one sheet, although in the photo it looks different shades.  The sentiment is computer generated.

The card folds flat for posting.
