Special Birthday Card

I've just realised that I haven't posted on my blog for over a week or done much blog visiting.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had coronavirus on my mind and I seem to have lost my mojo for crafting.  I hope everyone is staying safe and following the advice issued by their government.  Last weekend we spent a lovely couple of days with friends in mid-Wales, but since we've been back the recommendation is 'social distancing'.  On Monday we went for a long walk in a local arboretum where we could get some fresh air away from any crowds and since then we have decided to stay home.   I'm hoping later today that I can motivate myself to make a few cards.

In the meantime I'm sharing a card I made recently for a special lady who was celebrating her 86th birthday, which I can post now that I know it's been received.

The turquoise and pink card is pearlised.  I used the following dies:
Sue Wilson - Ornate Pierced Rectangles
                    Scalloped Lattice Frames
   Pinwheel Floral

Cherry Lynn - Sunflower

Sizzix - sentiment dies

I inlaid the white leaves and the corners of the frame with the pink pearlised card.

I am joining in the following challenges:

  1. What a pretty card, Liz!! I love the intricate die cuts and the colors. I'm sure this lovely card was much appreciated by your special friend.

My mojo also has disappeared to parts unknown. I was down for awhile with a dental complication and had to travel to get that taken care of (never a fun prospect!!) and since that trip I just have had no creative energy. My craft room is a mess and I don't even have the motivation to get it cleaned up. Ugh. Your walk in the arboretum sounds lovely. I am looking fwd to spring and being in my garden again!!

Take care and stay safe and healthy!

  5. What a beautiful ornate card Liz and love the blue and inlaid areas of pink to match the flower and leaves. Gorgeous! I think we are all feeling unsettled at the moment and not sure what will happen next but I do think we have to keep things in proportion and just be sensible about what we do. Hopefully everyone will have hoarded enough food soon and then we will all be able to buy what we need from the shops again..lol. Take care. x

  20. Stunning card Liz. I totally agree it is so worrying. Both my parents are over 70 and don't keep too well. For them having to stay in is depressing and I'm so far away. Sending hugs, Shabneez x
